Contractor, Nardini breached the contract multiple times. He walked off the job when receipts for materials were requested. He refused to give the electrician name he planned to do the work. He failed to place the order for the custom window & door until the day he walked off nov 29,2023. He had the funds 7000.00 on Aug 17, 2023. He was given 3000.00 on Oct 25,2023 & 2500.00 on Nov 17,2023 for materials never received on site. He yelled at me accusing me of harassing his 2 workman, called me irrational for requesting receipts. The job could not be finished on prior to Dec 31,2023 for a tax energy credit or capitol improvement. I had to hire workman but can't afford to finish without the funds returned from Nardini. I sent a demand letter letter. I have not received a refund as yet. Nardini did pay the 2400. Balance on the windows &they were delivered. If no resolution is achieved I plan court proceedings

    Business Response

I am writing in response to Ms. ********* **********’s complaint (#********) that was filed  against my company Nardini Building & Remodeling.   It is very unfortunate that Ms. ********** feels that she is owed a refund, and that this  business relationship has become an unpleasant experience. I have been in this business for over  35 years and have completed many jobs without incident. Unfortunately, Ms. ********** is the  exception. She was given a proposal that she agreed to and signed. Once the project began, she  began to make changes to the job details. Her choice of windows had changed 3 times before I  was able to place the order. The windows were on backorder at the factory and this situation was  out of my control. Ms. ********** went to my material suppliers and started yelling at the customer  service representatives. My sales rep called me and told me she was aggressive and ruthless.   Ms. **********’s action of making these changes would have made the original contract  void. I adjusted and concentrated on completing the job. She also voided the contract when she  decided to hire her own electrician. I had already purchased electrical materials and that portion  of the job was started. Under my liability insurance, I cannot have anyone I don’t know just show  up at the job site. My refusal to give her my electrician’s name was a request from the electrician.  He had heard about her abrupt and raging attitude.   With 2/3 of the job completed I suggested that my carpenter and his son finish the job.  There was a balance of $6K left on the job, and I knew it would get done right, and I wouldn’t have to  be approached and harassed by Ms. **********. The job was completed.   As far as the receipts that she demanded. Those are my receipts for my tax returns. I tried  to explain this to her, but she continued to harass me. I think she was trying to get as many receipts  as she could for her tax credit for her own personal gain. Just like how she is now coming after me  for something to gain. I am truly sorry that it has come to this. I value and respect all my  customers and have never had an experience like this one.

Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The business did pay the balance with to ******* ******** supply in order to keep doing business with them, not as a favor to me.   At this point the requested refund is $7500 which was given for material.  Regards, ********* **********

There were many additional items that I needed to do to complete the job that were not written in the contract, but were verbally agreed by her.      I noticed  unsecured ceiling joists and the ceiling was off level by more than 3".     This was an additional cost for labor and materials that she is not considering.     I have been working with the same suppliers for 40 years.   All materials  and labor were paid for, to the point of breech of contract by her when she hired her own electrician.

    Thank you,

    Frank Nardini
