    We first went under contract with Hodorowski Homes in March 2022 for a new construction home in their Creekview Estates development in Halfmoon. We were told upfront that we could expect to be in the home in April 2023 due to supply chain delays, etc. April 2023 came and went and we had not even gone to selection. Now it appeared to be an issue with the utility companies providing power to the site. At the end of December 2023, we were told that now construction would not resume until May 2024 at the earliest due to issues with the town and we would likely not be in the home until June 2025. After nearly two years of waiting for our home, while continuing to rent and put our lives on hold, we decided to cancel out contract. Through our lawyer and the builder's agent, we filed a cancellation form in February 2024 and were told that our deposit would be returned to us within 60 days. At this point, we have still not received our deposit back, despite our lawyer being in contact with the builder's lawyers and agent. After two years of waiting, the real estate market has changed so much; we are dealing with interest rates nearly double what we initially had in 2022, home prices have drastically increased, and we have been priced out of a new construction home. We are currently looking at existing homes, which are still more expensive than what we were contracted to pay with Hodorowski and we have lost out on two years of building equity while we continue to rent.

    This message is in response to a message I received in the complaint portal. While I did not receive communication directly for Hodorowski Homes, the deposit was returned to our lawyer shortly after filing the complaint and we have since received it. Thank you, Lisa F********
