    I have filed a complaint against Capitaland Subaru for their refusal to refund a $500 deposit I placed on a vehicle that was not yet on their property. The deposit was made on 3/12/25 based on a verbal agreement with a salesperson, while no formal contract was signed at that time. I was informed that the deposit would hold the car that was expected to arrive at their dealership soon. In the interim, I continued my vehicle search and ultimately found another car that better suited my needs. On 3/19/25 I contacted the dealership to request a refund of the deposit, but I was told that the deposit would not be refunded until the car I had placed the deposit on was sold. This car, however, has not even arrived at the dealership. It seems unreasonable to withhold a deposit for a vehicle that is not in their possession and has not been sold, especially given that no signed agreement or binding contract was ever established between us. Despite my attempts to resolve the issue directly with the dealership, they have refused to release the deposit, leaving me with no recourse but to file this complaint and dispute the charges with my credit card company. I believe this practice is unfair and constitutes poor customer service.
