Purchased a vehicle 10/2022 from wedekind motors in Schenectady. I was told the vehicle was never in an accident but ever since my purchase I kept having several mechanical issues and upon speaking with different auto shops they assured me that this vehicle was definitely in an accident. Also vehicle was inspected and passed without being looked over. I recently purchased a vehicle report by VIN which shows my vehicle being in 3 different accidents which is why I’m having all of these issues. Wedekind lied to me and sold me a vehicle that shouldn’t have been on the road. A week after purchasing vehicle brakes failed due to caliper leaking brake fluid, sway bar links were broken, both wipers were torn, turbo seal blown, oil is burning.

Enclosed you will find copies of all of the repair orders from before the
customer took delivery of the car as well as repair orders since she took
delivery and a complete ****** report.
The customer stated that car was in three accidents, the ****** report
states that there was only one. We offer every customer a free ******
report, available from our website, on every car in our inventory. This
would have been available to her.
We regret that she has had a few issues with her vehicle, but she has
incurred very little out of pocket expense from these issues.
We don't feel that we should have to purchase her car back because
there were no lemon law issues, she has had the car for two years and
she has put 36,300 miles on it since she took delivery.
    Respectfully, r
    President

Wedekind lied to me about what they sold me, I will not be going back and am not happy with my experience.
When I put a down payment on this car they told me the engine had to be replaced but they'd have proof where it came from and the miles on it. I was told 40-50k would be on the engine going in the vehicle and I didnt mind because it was less than the body of the car. They failed to provide the proper paperwork and because the process was rushed I didnt notice they didnt give me paperwork that showed mileage on the new engine, which was 70k. I had to ask them to email the paperwork to me, so I still dont have a physical copy. They also sold me the car with safety recalls that have killed other people, they lost the spare key and tried to charge me to replace itand said they were there to help me with any issues. I emailed the man who sold this car to me expressing these issues and got no response. I was told they'd be there to help with any issues, but instead was lied to about what I was buying. It shouldnt be this hard for a first time car buyer to go through this process without getting lied to or taken advantage of.

BBB spoke to Dave at the business and the following was relayed:I was able to speak to the customer and am willing to offer $250 as a goodwill gesture. The customer has put $12,000 miles on the car since purchasing.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Dave gave you the wrong information, just like I have received the wrong information from them when purchasing this vehicle. I havent put 13,000 miles on the car, I've put 11,000 miles on the car. He told me it's expected to spend the money I did on repairs, but didn't acknowledge this was due to poor work done by Wedekind Motors. I was talked over by this man numerous times during our conversation and he didnt see the issue with me being told the engine would have 20,000-30,000 less miles than the engine that was put in because "it's a great engine that will last forever". Regardless of how good the engine is, he didn't see the issue of me being told one thing and sold another, especially since I wouldve excpected to pay less for this vehicle had I known before following through. I need repairs Ive paid for to be covered at the very least, which is just over $1,100. The shop I took it to said the work wasn't done well and it shouldnt have fallen apart this fast. I was also told by Dave it's not Wedekind's responsibility to keep track of what safety recalls the vehicle had and that its a manufacturer responsibility. Ideally, I want them to buy the car back, but he wasn't willing to negotiate past a $250 refund. I will be contacting the DMV as well in hopes of resolving this issue fairly, $250 doesn't even cover repair costs so I can't accept that offer.

    Regards,
