Complaint against: Riverfront Optical at Ophthalmic Consultants
670 Franklin Street, Schenectady, NY 12305
    Phone ************ Amount Paid: $239.00
On the 11/3/22 I visited the eye doctor at the Riverfront Optical. She recommended me to use progressive glasses to be able to play tennis comfortably. I had been using 2 different glasses to read and distance, $60 from Americas Best. The sales lady at the counter, Tina P, assured me that progressives are very good and that her company makes the lences with better glasses than anybody else. She also assured me that if I am not comfortable with it she would adjust it to fit and suit my vision. It cost me $239. I agreed and paid relying on her and the doctor's assurances that I will be able to see and read better with progressives. Three weeks later I received my glasses and when I said it is not very clear she said that I should try for a while and will get used to it. The glasses gave blurred vision and impeded driving to the extent that I started getting head aches and was about to get into on accident entering the wrong way when road lines blurred. Upon complaining the Tina said that the readings may be wrong. Tested again and the reading was the same. "Progressives are not for everybody. It did not suit you. So, we will make a distance glasses for the same money. But, for reading glasses you should pay $109."
My bone of contention is: 1. If you know that progressives are not for all then why even make a policy of ;no refund at all;? Talking of policy they are right but is it ethical?
    2. If you take extra money for progressives and when it does not suit a customer why charge for the second glass? Isn't progressive 2 glasses in one? Give me my 2 glasses back or the refund.
    3. Bottom line is when a customer buys a product they believe your recommendation and rely upon the product. If it is faulty are you not accountable despite your crooked policy?
I request you, kindly to, look into the crooked, greedy sales practices of the above said business to make sure that they will not rip off more of the senior citizens like me. And I want my money back which they have taken for a ride in the name of 'policy'
    Thanks very much, ***** *******
