    I brought my car for inspection on January 12, 2023 to Niskayuna Tire &Service. I was not aware of any problem with my car at that time. I received a call later that day indicating that my car failed inspection and needed a replacement of the headlight switch Assembly as the high beams were not working properly. I authorized the replacement and was told the part needed to be ordered and would be replaced the next day. I received a call at about 4 pm on January 13th indicating that my car was ready for pickup, the repair complete, inspection complete. I picked up my car at 4:25 pm that day. I started my car and drove out to the road and immediately saw that two warning lights were on in my dashboard, the passenger airbag and antilock brake lights. I turned around and returned to Niskayuna Tire &Service and waited to show the attendant the lights on the dashboard. He said the mechanic Jeremy had left for the night and would not be back till Monday. He would inform him of the problem and would have him call me. I received no call from Jeremy. On Monday I took my car to Lia Toyota where I usually have my car serviced. They told me they verified the warning lights as well as the fact that my horn was also inoperative and that was due to an internally broken clock spring caused by the repair of the headlight assembly. The cost of the diagnosis and repair of the clock spring cost $1,326.86. I spoke to Jeremy at Niskayuna Tire on Tuesday January 17 and informed him of the damage to my car from the replacement of the light switch and requested that the owner call me. I called and spoke with Jeremy again on January 19th and again asked that the owner call me. I received no contact. I sent a letter and copies of the invoices from the two repairs to the owner Jason H******* and Jeremy who identified himself as the manager on January 20th asking for reimbursement of the repair of the damage to my car by their repair. I have received no contact from anyone.

    In early July, 2022 I took my car to the business for an inspection and oil change. They informed me that I would need to replace my power steering assembly to pass inspection so I approved the job. All told, the transaction was around $1300. On August 26th, 2022, my car began shaking violently and I had to have it towed to a shop by ***. On site, the people towing my car indicated that my passenger side tie rod was disconnected from my wheel. They indicated that the crown nut that held the tie rod to the wheel was disconnected and the cotter pin that held the parts together had come off (see the attached pictures). They suggested it was likely due to improper installation by the people who rebuild my power steering assembly. I decided to have the car towed to another shop where they verified what was said by the *** employee as well as finding that the driver's side crown nut was also loose and missing a cotter pin. They suggested replacing the passenger side tie rod (it was damaged after it was disconnected from the wheel) and other work to get the car running again. All told, the work cost around $633 (see attached invoice from *** ****** ** *******). When I raised the issue to Niskayuna Tire by phone on August 29th 2022, the manager indicated that they would raise the issue with the owner. After a month of repeated contact with the manager and sharing the attached materials with the business, they offered to reimburse me for the price of the tie rod (approx $77) via email on Sept 27th. I indicated that this was unacceptable as the problem lies in the labor rather than a faulty part. I requested to speak with the owner about this matter on Sept 29th and have not heard back since then. I am seeking a full refund for the cost of the original work ($1300) completed by Niskayuna Tire and the $633 cost from *** ******. More supporting documents are available if needed.
