  Jim B***** is a scam artist who has taken money from people all over the area. He does not buy building materials, and comes up with every excuse under the sun to not start the job. He has been arrested twice already and I encourage ANYONE READING THIS THAT HAS PAID HIM TO CONTACT THE AUTHORITIES IMMEDIATELY. This is the only chance you have for any sense of justice in this messed up situation.

  I talked to Trust a Fence, James Butler, in November2023 about installing a fence in my yard. He gave me a proposal and I gave him a deposit of $1472.57, with remaining balance due when the work was completed. James had many excuses starting in November on why he was behind schedule, no workers, too many jobs and so on. Since November, he has done absolutely nothing in my yard, although he has texted and called me to continue to give excuses on why the work has not been done. On January 5, I advised him that I want my deposit returned to me in 5 days. He agreed; however, again all I've heard from him is excuses on why he hasn't been able to return my deposit. I've heard nothing since. At this point, I will have to take legal action against him.

  I would give this business negative stars if I can. What the owner did was outrageous. In October 2023, I signed a contract with Mr. B*****, the owner of Trust a Fence to replace my backyard fence, for which I paid a $3097.35 deposit on 10/11.
  Unfortunately, the project has not progressed as anticipated. Despite my efforts to apply for a building permit, the work never commenced. It became evident that Mr. B***** has a questionable business approach, as he consistently provided excuses to delay the project. Frustrated with the lack of progress, I decided to cancel the contract and requested a refund of my deposit.
  Mr. B***** agreed to refund the deposit by January 26th, but the promised refund did not happen. He stopped responding to my messages ever since. It has come to my attention through online reviews and Better Business Bureau complaints that this is not an isolated incident. Numerous individuals have faced similar problems with Trust A Fence, suggesting a pattern of unethical behavior on Mr. B*****'s part. I am now fighting to get my deposit back.
  Do Not Use Trust A Fence. Measures should be taken to ensure Mr. B***** is held accountable for his actions, preventing him from conducting business anywhere. Dispute with your credit card company if you can and file a complaint with the NYS attorney general office.

  One star simply because you have to have at least one. I was initially impressed that the owner came to give a quote on the same day we contacted him. After receiving a 60% deposit, he gave us an install date for 10/26. Nearly two months after receiving the deposit, several excuses for delays, and we still don’t have a fence. We requested a refund, and twice, he has not shown up with a check. Not sure if he’s truly a scam artist, relying on deposits to complete jobs, or just needed an interest-free loan he doesn’t intend to pay back. Do NOT “Trust” this business and/or its owners.

He gave me a proposal and I gave him a deposit of $4404.53, with remaining balance of $2936.35 due when the work was completed. James had many excuses starting in July on why he was behind schedule, no workers, too many jobs and so on. Since July, he has done absolutely nothing in my yard, although he has texted and called me to continue to give excuses on why the work has not been done. On October 20, 2023, I advised him that I want my deposit of $4404.53 returned to me in 5 days. He agreed; however, again all I've heard from him is excuses on why he hasn't been able to return my deposit. I've heard nothing since. At this point, I will also be sending a certified letter to his company and reporting him to the NY Attorney General.
  DO NOT USE JAMES BUTLER OR TRUST A FENCE!

  On April 12, 2023 we gave Jim $2,512.00 deposit to install our fence. He said it would be installed by the last week of May. After many many excuses, delays and installation days where he never showed up. He had starting times of 1:00pm in the afternoon??? The fence never got installed. After waiting all summer long we told Jim on September 6, 2023 we would like our deposit returned. He said he would have to return the fence which I guess he was looking at all summer long first then drop off our deposit in a certified check by September 15, 2023. It`s now September 19, 2023 with no certified check refund or message from Jim.

  My name is ***** *********** n I used trust a fence and I'm on cloud nine owner Jim did everything on time n the work is magnificent n I advise you to use him n best products and his rates can't be beat when others tried to rip me off. U can definitely trust Jim he's genuine

  Jim and his team eventually got our fence complete. It was a long process due to the ground in Saratoga Springs. (We have a VERY rocky back yard that is also filled with debris from the 1800s-early 1900s. - no really, they used their back yards as dumping grounds. We have found glass bottles, concrete, bricks, coal, pieces of metal, glass, pottery bits. It's a nightmare. Our neighbors experience the same thing in their yards.) His team had to come in with additional equipment to get the work done which caused more delays. Once the work was complete we did pay him the rest of the amount owed. The fence does look really nice.
  I will say that communication and setting realistic expectations need to be greatly improved upon so that his team can meet deadlines is encouraged.
