    I signed a contract with J.S.M.E.C.C on 3/24/23 for a bathroom remodel. In total I paid them $8,675.84 for labor, materials and as a down payment for a second bathroom remodel job that we have decided not to have them do because of the poor workmanship on the first job. I also spent $465.24 on tiles that I chose for the remodel. On 4/7/2023 I was told the bathroom remodel was complete and I was asked to pay the balance in full. I checked the bathroom and noticed tiles that were missing in places and that were installed crooked. I asked they fix this and they said they would before they left for the day. I paid the final bill believing they would do an good job. Later, I found the tiles that I asked to fix were still poorly installed with a patch job that looked messy with grout that didn't match the color of the original grout. When I inspected the work more closely I found more issues. There were many areas where the tiles were not fully grouted. The corners weren't grouted at all. There was no area that was caulked at all. Quarter round was used around the outside of the shower and there are cracks between the quarter round and the shower tile. The floor of the shower is not sloped toward the drain so water pools in the corner. Around the shower faucet there is a large gap where water can get behind the tiles. I had asked for cubbys to be made within the shower walls for soap and shampoo but this was not done. Instead two shelves were added but they had raw wood on the underside of them so that they would rot quickly. Some of the tiles were installed upside down so that the pattern on the tile was mismatched. There were pins sticking out where the spacers were. Some of the tiles were cracked. Around the drain there is a gap in the tiling work. The toilet paper holder was crooked. We asked for a refund of the labor for the shower install and materials as well as the deposit on the second bath but they haven't. Also, I found they clogged my sink.
