On June 5th I brought my car in because the ABS lights were on and I needed an inspection. I told the man at the counter that I knew the horn wasn't working and that would need to be fixed in order to pass the inspection. I got the call that my car was ready and picked it up after work. When I got in the car, the ABS lights were off so I drove home. When I got into my driveway, I remembered the horn, so I tried it. It still didn't work. The shop put a new inspection sticker on my car, so I let it go. Fast forward to July 26th. I'm driving to work in the morning and my ABS lights come on again. I call the shop and they tell me to bring it in. I make arrangements for rides to and from work and the shop and drop it off on July 31st. The shop leaves a message on my phone to call them. I have my boyfriend, Rob, call them since I am busy at work. The shop tells him that they had to reattach a loose wire in my horn and that now the ABS lights are on because the right side is bad. Rob asked why they didn't check both sides when they had my car on June 5th and when he asked why the horn wasn't fixed during my last visit as well, the owner because extremely angry and confrontational. I was charged $217 on July 31st to fix the horn and run a diagnostic scan. I should not have been charged for this and they should have checked both sides when they had my car the first time. I was charged $1321.92 on June 5th already and should not have been charged for a repeat visit due to their negligence the first time

      Business Response

      Date: 08/17/2023

BBB spoke with the business owner and the following was relayed:

She came in 2 -3 months ago with the ABS light on.  We did a diagnosis and we made a repair to the left rear wheel bearing.  We charged her for that job.

Then she came in recently with the ABS light back on.  We did a diagnosis and determined the issue to be the right rear wheel bearing.  We charged her for that job.

These were 2 different repairs.  These were 2 different jobs.  We charged accordingly.

She sent her boyfriend up her to ask us why we didn't fix the right rear wheel bearing the first time.  We told him- we did a diagnosis the first time and that diagnosis only alerted us to the left rear wheel bearing.  So we made that repair and charged her.  Nothing else was needed at that time.

They also want to know why they were charged for the horn repair.  That's because we made a repair, performed work and charged for the job.  Just like anything else in the world- when you have a job done, you pay for that job.
