    I hired the contractor on grounds of doing some work for me. The first cost would be $1000 upfront, I decided to add on the painting. As you can see in the text messages it then added extra labor and I asked to clarify the cost as the contract did not display what it was all for. I sent the extra $748. To now have paid a total of $1748 to be started. As seen in the messages I clearly asked several times if this was during Thanksgiving week and the contractor responded yes that is the plan and I work 7 days a week. A few days prior to the first start date I asked about how things were going and if anything else was needed. The response was basically what are you talking about, I told you I was in Maine. Looking at calendars and counting the dates that he told me the 20th would be the correct start date. He told me he was confused and sorry but it would be the next week. Again a few days prior to the next Monday I asked how things were going. Again the response was I am not sure we maybe stuck but trying to get back on Monday night. On Monday I asked if they made it back no response. On Tuesday I asked if everything was ok no response. I also called the phone and it rang straight to voicemail where I left a message to call me back. Wednesday I start getting concerned I paid someone seventeen hundred dollars, so I wanted to know when the work was going to start and if they person was even ok. I found a family member online and asked them if they knew the contractor and if they did are they ok. Message is attached as well. Almost immediately the contractor texted me and said you lost my business i will send your money and I do not appreciate you reaching out to people on ******** that is crazy. I would like to just get a full refund as he has told me he was going to do. Thank you
