Over the two years that I had used TRI-M Pools to maintain my pool, they were supposed to clean the filters regularly as part of any proper pool maintenance. Their records indicate that they cleaned the filter cartridges in 2023. Upon my taking the pool filter apart in June 2024, I discovered that they had not cleaned the filter at all. They were extremely filthy. I cleaned the filters and can only say the local car wash has cleaner filter cartridges post-cleaning. I ended up replacing the filters at a cost of nearly $1,000. I notified TRI-M via email that I was discontinuing pool service in May 2024 and they had not cleaned my pool since. Out of nowhere at the first of July, two of their service crew show up at my pool to add salt! The pool chemistry is near perfectly balanced. Fortunately, I caught them on my security system and was able to stop them. It only took threatening to call the Southampton Town Police (which I did) and triggering the house alarm to get them to leave. What could be worse? Why am I leaving this review? They turned up the pool heater to 90 degrees (which they did not return to the previous setting). Therefore, I know they were at the pool equipment. The Saltwater Chlorine System control box is on the fence by the pool heater. They did not even bother to check it before opening a bag of salt ready to pour into the pool. The indication on the system was 3,500 ppm, which would indicate to any professional pool maintenance person that SALT WAS NOT REQUIRED. The operating range is 2,700 - 3,400 ppm. Manually, the water tests at 3,200 ppm. What pool maintenance professional adds salt or any chemical for that matter to a swimming pool without first testing the water???
