      We decided to take our 8 grandchildren over Christmas week tubing. Tickets are required to be prepaid, online in advance. We called to be sure they were open due to several really warm days. We were purchasing for a group of 10, the youngest being 3 and 5 year olds. We arrived and pleasant Oak Mtn tubing staff checked us in, assisted us with lift tickets and hangers for all kids, including the youngest. Next staff assisted getting tubes for all, then staff assisted in helping us all on the tube lift, including me with my granddaughter in one tube (as assisted by staff) and my husband with our grandson in one tube (as assisted), as per the posting at the bottom of the tubing hill. I asked the staff that assisted us on the lift to confirm that my granddaughter was sitting properly between my legs in the tube with me and they confirmed I was. Upon reaching the top of the tubing hill, another staff told both my husband and me that we would not be able to go down with the kids, but instead they needed to go in their own tubes with us holding onto them in a separate one. We explained that our understanding was that kids under 36” could not go alone but that they had to go with an adult, which we planned for and is how we came up. That staff allowed us to go down in separate tubes, holding onto the kids tubes from ours. He further asked us to go into the lodge and speak with management to confirm, because he wasn’t sure, which we did. The manager there sharply stated that their signage and website stated “must be 36” and must ride alone”. Management refused to refund our money for the 2 youngest kids, despite paying for 10 tickets total. The entire waiting area at the bottom of tubing hill was deep mud following 2 warm days. The ends of the tubing lanes were a huge puddle of slush. During one lift trip up, the person on the tube behind us slid off the lift track and over the edge due to the lack of snow banking on the lift track. Conditions were horrible, management worse.
