    My truck was purchased 1/31/24(10 months ago) and it was inspected (allegedly) by Kenny’s collision where it was purchased. I had it in for another service and was told “the frame is rotted out and UNSAFE TO DRIVE.” I then called and had Kenny look at it at his shop where he said “it’s fine you’re not in any harms way.” I was told he would find a welder and get the repairs taken care of that day or next day. I waited a week and had not heard anything so I took it to another shop near my house. I was quoted $4800 to fix a “rotted out frame and an UNSAFE VEHICLE TO DRIVE.” I was instructed “No kids should be riding in this vehicle, that in 10 months since my purchase this much damage could not have taken place nor the broken frame that was allegedly inspected and passed.” I have photos of the damage that should not have passed inspection in NYS as well as the broken emergency brake cables that were not hooked up at inspection (in road worthy). Please help! I seek compensation or a refund as well would like all of this business’s vehicles inspected for safety concerns as my children were DELIBERATELY PUT IN HARMS WAY by Kenny.

    The business called and explained that the vehicle passed inspection 11 months ago. There is no warranty on the vehicle at this time. The business offered to make repairs which would cost some money since the warranty coverage has expired. The consumer refused to have this work done.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.


    I was offered a repair that would be less than satisfactory to correct the problem, a problem that a trained professional determined was clearly older than 10 months(meaning the vehicle was improperly inspected).  I refused this option and have now had the problem corrected with money out of pocket, an issue I should not have encountered in such a short time period after purchase considering market value of vehicle and purchase price.  Now that I have paid to have repair completed I no longer seek to return the vehicle to dealer but would require compensation for the attached repair bill of $4104.
