On 6/03/2024 my debit card was charged $996.00 by General Patent Corporation. I did not make or authorize this transaction. My bank stated I need to work with the merchant to dispute the charge, but neither phone number listed is working. I believe this is not a valid merchant, and I am seeking assistance having this transaction disputed and the money put back into my account.

    Business Response

We regret to hear that someone has charge ****************** debit card without authorization. However, it certainly wasn't charged by General Patent Corporation. We are not a merchant, we don't sell anything, and we do not accept credit or debit cards. General Patent Corporation is a professional service organization. We don't even have any ability to process a credit or debit card, because we don't have--and never had--a merchant account. In our 37 year history we never had any complaints and never charged anyone's debit cards. Furthermore, General Patent Corporation is no longer located at ********************************************************** and haven't been there for a long time. This is a regrettable mistake at best, or, at worse, an attempt at extorsion.

    Sincerely,

    General Patent Corporation
