I has a house fire in February . At end of March i hired a window company I had done business with before, as I have been happy with their work over the years. He gave me a quote, I agreed and paid him $3260 in cash. He came and took out the window frames and left with them to o fix them in his shop. Now he keeps texting excuses why he cant finish them . Busy with new puppy, van broke down, has the flu, has low blood pressure so bad he can’t stand up and could die… etc etc. i told him to stop all work and take care of himself. Told him to keep $1000 for removing the window frames
(Which i would pick up, ) and return to me my $2260 so i could get someone else to do the work. . He keeps texting me to be patient . i texted him that i cantas i need my windows back in my house. It’s been over a month for a 2 week job. Now he is not responding at all and is seemingly ghosting me.

I ordered a small shelf from this business by phone. I was required to pay up front so I did provide a credit card number which made me a bit uneasy. This was well over a month ago and I have had absolutely no contact from the business. I have called numerous times and left messages on the answering machine semicolon I have stopped at the business during posted business hours and never find it open. I would like my shelf or a refund but I don't know how to pursue this further.
