We enlisted the services of Zero Draft to perform a blower door test on our house. They performed the test on April 19th, 2023 and the attached report was sent to us stating the house passed. However, they stated the CBFT of the area was 28,994. We knew that was too high, thereby skewing the results in a positive way. I sent an email to them stating that fact. The second attachment is the letter I got back explaining: "We have to keep the cubic footage at that amount in order for you to pass. You actually failed by a touch, and the smaller you make the cubic footage the more it would make it fail by. If homeowners are within a few percent I always adjust the numbers to make them pass because that could just be a variation in the equipment. Trust me you don’t have anything to worry about with the report. We have never gotten one kicked back."
I responded that I needed a true and factual report. The new CBFT they used (without coming back to the house) was 27,590 CBFT. See the second report I received from them in the third attachment. I have since hired a Professional Mechanical Engineer who states the correct CBFT of 26,440 See third attachment, which would have resulted in a worse failure. I have requested twice Zero Draft either come out to the house and repeat the test correctly or refund my money. At this point, I don't trust their questionable practices and want them to refund my money promptly. I am requesting BBB step in and help please.

The last email Zerodraft received from ****** clearly shows that she is trying every avenue to go after her contractor. ****** states in that email that she has had 4 different people out to her home for this testing. Apparently one of the companies did the test and provided a certificate, so I am curious as to why she called us for the same thing. I have provided the dated email from my manager that did the testing, his measurements and picture of the testing number shows the house passed the test. When ****** emailed me and said our measurements were off and wanted them adjusted which would make the house fail by a touch. This is what she was requesting and that’s when I knew she was trying to go after the builder. She had 2 other people come to the house to measure it trying to get a smaller cbft number to make the house fail by even more.  ****** has now requested that I send someone back out to test the house again for free. Whether the houses pass or not, we charge a $350 testing fee and if the house fails and we come back out to retest we charge $200 for each time. Us going back out to test does not change anything, if she has not done anything to the house then the test number would be the same, it is the cbft of the house which is what she is complaining about and saying we were wrong, and you can see that each person that measured the house has come up with a different number. My assumption is that she has made the contractor fix a bunch of things and she wants the retest done for free. Zerodraft has many certified employees to perform blower door tests and we performed the test and made the report, then I revised the report to reflect the cbft number from another company to satisfy her which did not work. ****** paid Zerodraft for 1 test and the report which is what she received.
