OCWA repaired a water break on my property in mid November and has yet to repair my dug up lawn. I have texted them, called them and emailed them and have got nothing but a run around. This is going on month number eight.

Complainant emailed OCWA 4/25/25 and was responded to on 4/28/25 (attached).  OCWA confirmed the property was on the clean up and list.  OCWA does not have a text line for customer service and has no record of calls from Mr. ******* in the que. Lawn restoration for work performed this winter was significantly delayed due to the weather/rain and availability of supplies (top soil - received first delivery first week of May) Upon receipt of this complaint it was again confirmed that the property was on the cleanup list.  We shifted the schedule to move it to the top and get there on the first dry day.   The work was completed on 5/28/25

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I have proof of emails and texts sent. The break occurred in mid November in the fall.I contacted OCWA in November and they said they would take care of it. I also texted distribution in March and got no response. I followed up with two phone calls in April. To me it's unacceptable to have your lawn torn up for seven months. If you were that busy then lawn repair should have contracted out. ******** **** contracts there lawn repair out and their response was almost immediately after it was dug up. It's a very sad way to do business imo - taxpayers money gets neglected.

I received a water bill in the amount of $1,216.76 my wife called and was told not to pay it that it would be looked into.
Water authority sent paperwork to be filled out and that was done and sent back.
Now all of a sudden I owe the original bill plus a penalty and received a separate letter stating I am on an automatic payment plan.
Requested that someone come out and look at the water meter I have not seen anyone.
There is no way we used that much water. Tried to explain that to them and was told whatever happened has stopped. Now if that was the case there would be water standing and ground saturated by the road. There is nothing
When this took place I was in the hospital for a month my wife was only home long enough to take a shower in the mornings and head back to the hospital.
I have terminal cancer I should not have to be spending the last few months of my life battling this.
This needs to be resolved again there is no way that much water they are claiming was used.
    Hoping you can help

    Business Response

    Date: 04/24/2025

BBB spoke with Tim who explained that the customers had been customers of the business for a long time. The meter captures consumption, and a data extract was done. There was a leak point found, leading to high consumption. A courtesy adjustment of over $637 was made, and a penalty of $120 was removed.
