    Barletta did not make us aware of a $100 minimum service charge that ended up being a flat fee for services rendered. They proceeded with the work without authorization and pressured my wife into payment.

    My garage door opener stopped working. Since I had done business with them before, I called Bartlett to come out to take a look at it. They came out late afternoon at the end of December. The tech arrived and took 5-6 steps into my garage. He looked at the motor assembly and said it was outdated and needed to be replaced. We talked briefly about the motor's age, since the motor was about 40 years old. The tech told me the replacement price would be $365. I told him that I would have to think about this repair, since it cost more than I have to spend on it. The tech said for me to give Bartlett a call when I'm ready to do the repair. Then, he left. The whole job estimate took about 5 minutes. Next, Bartlett called me Jan 2, 2024, to inquire whether I had made a decision yet. I told them I had not. Bartlett then said that if they didn't do the job, they would service charge me $100 plus tax. I told Bartlett that I had used them previously, that they never told me of any service charges, and that this time there was no mention of any service charge. The conversation then ended. Bartlett needs not to send any service charges.

    BBB spoke to the business and the following was relayed: We will not charge this customer.  We are removing the charge.  The customer owes us nothing.  We are doing this in goodwill to resolve this complaint.  Thank you.
