Parise Mechanical installed our brand new boiler and converted our house from oil heat to propane heat in October 2022. When the owner Sam came to our house to talk about business, he assured us that we were going to save so much money on our heating bill switching to a high efficiency boiler. Now only did our heat bill go from $2,000 from last year with heating oil to $3300 this year with propane, we also had to keep our house 6-8 degrees colder all winter because we were having troubles paying the unexpected, higher heat bills. Over the winter season, our heat completely stopped working 3 different times, with the last time having no heat for several days in a row. When the heat stopped working each time, I was forced to pack up my children and stay elsewhere as our youngest was a newborn (born November 2022), and the house was getting below 50 degrees. After the last time being without heat for several days, a rep from the manufacturer had to come out. The issue was a setting on the boiler was 2 degrees off from what it should have been, resulting in our heat to kick on every 8-10 minutes and waste a considerable amount of propane. I have contacted Sam, the owner of Parise Mechanical about reimbursement for our heating bills due to the boiler mot being installed correctly and have been met with nothing but dead ends.

    Business Response

BBB spoke to the owners of the company and the following was relayed: This customer's husband is the nephew of a close family friend.  We installed the system and the customer was only charged for labor, we installed at cost.  Customer's mother-in-law actually paid the labor too.  Anyways, the burner had to be installed at a tilt but that was not mentioned anywhere and we were unaware.  Our guys installed it straight.  After talking with the manufacturer we learned it had to be installed at a tilt and we fixed it.  We were out there for service calls numerous times, in addition to the re-installing it at a tilt and we never once charged for a single service call.  In fact at one point, we actually gave her a few hundred dollars back as a good faith courtesy but she wants more.  We asked to see the documentation showing that she paid more in heating bills and she would not provide them.  They are now selling the house and as such, had a home inspection done.  The inspector said the heating system was great and found absolutely no problems with it.  Furthermore, the manufacturer has confirmed as well that they system is in perfect working order.  Customer is screaming and complaining irately to us, the manufacturer and the inspector.  Bottom line, we installed at cost as a favor.  Customer did not even pay the labor bill.  We performed numerous service calls and re-installed the system at no cost.  We even gave her a few hundred dollars back already.  Manufacturer and home inspector both confirm the system is in perfect working order.  We stand by our work ( we have never had a complaint before)  and have already tried to extend good faith offers or resolution.
