Between 6/23-10/23 I contracted with Cooley Construction for a roofing and gutter project. It was subcontracted to another roofer and never inspected by Cooley Const.

On Oct. 10 of this year I contacted Chad Cooley about a leak that I discovered in my dining room, which was coming from a portion of the roof connecting the original house to a kitchen/garage addition. I asked Chad to look at the problem and fix the problem. He did not respond. I later called his office, left a message, still no response. On a subsequent call, I spoke to his wife, and asked for the problem to be addressed. I've tried calling since then, but no one has answered the phone. I've since then had an experienced handyman to up and he says that the flashing on the back side of the addition portion of the roof was done incorrectly, resulting in a leak.

Cooley Construction has been completely irresponsible. When I first contacted them, I got no response, no one came from the company to assess the problem, no one followed through. I have had some emergency work done by my handyman to ensure that I can get through the winter without additional leakage, but it needs to be repaired properly by Cooley or someone else PAID FOR BY THEM to remediate a problem that they caused.

Folks: I have been in contact with Chad Cooley from Cooley Construction, most likely because of your actions. He contacted me to look at the problem, and explain his lack of communication (he has a sick kid, which I didn't know), and to assure me he'd get it fixed. A few days later, a couple of his guys showed up, and spent a good portion of the day up on the roof. They did what should have been done when the problem emerged, e.g. pulled up the portion of the roof that lacked the proper flashing, and re-did it. They sought out some of the same shingles so it looks great.  I waited until the expected rain arrived late last week to make sure it behaved as good as it looked, and saw no evidence of additional water intrusion.  I told Chad what I'd had to do to determine that the problem was my 1-year-old roof, and what it cost me, but I didn't insist then on reimbursement and won't now. His time is better spent caring for his kid. I did make the point to him that all of this could have been avoided if he'd just made a quick call or email when I first contacted him. I appreciate the help you gave me to help resolve my problem, and rest assured the credit is with BBB. Regards, ***** ********
