We contracted for demolition, reconstruction, and painting. Upon selecting T-ART for the job he had verbally committed to completing the job with his “crew” within two weeks. Upon signing the contract estimate rose “due to rise in flooring price”. On 8/4 we received a text that T and his foreman would be coming on 8/5 for a walkthrough and commence painting on the 6th. T had also asked to bring his fiancé as well as she would be a great deal of assistance. T told us she works at an hourly rate and we could discuss further on Monday. This caused some confusion. At 10:12 on 8/5 received a text stating he would be late arriving a little after 11 as he was “picking up ladders and everything I need for later in the week.” T did eventually show up with no ladders, and no foreman. When asked when he could start T said “In a couple days” I asked “Wednesday” T said in a couple days. On 8/6 T asked for pictures to be sent of kitchen cabinets for his second shift guy of which we obliged. On 8/7 T sent a text stating he would be starting and that his painter would be starting second shift on the weekend and early morning. T furthered that he was working to get multiple shifts. On 8/7 we had to lock in a price for flooring to avoid paying $4-5 per square foot.. Received a text on 8/8 that T was on his way at 8:52 and apologized for being late due to a death in family he assured us that his day would start at 8:30. Painting commenced on 8/8 with no crew and no ladders. T found evidence of us tracking time and defended himself saying hours will vary as he owns a company. T again reiterated that his crew will be painting on Sunday although that is not the norm. This never happened because as T stated in a text the 2nd shift guy had emergency surgery. After 3 weeks and no where near completion we cut our losses and parted ways. No ladders, no crew, nothing painted in areas where ladder was needed, after questioning his timeline T asked for funds for flooring and crew.
