My cat had a medical issue on Monday, December 12, 2022. At the time of admittance to the vet, the receptionist quoted me a bill of $3370.00 for a laceration repair, which I understood and paid with no issues. She said that I would be called later that day and informed of how the surgery went. I was given a consent form to sign stating, I understand that conditions not known may make it advisable that other surgery or treatment be done and I authorize such other surgery or treatment when and if they are deemed advisable. To my understanding, this meant that if any issues were to arise during my cats stay, I would be advised of the issues first and foremost and then be giving my consent to such procedures. However, later that day, I received a call from the veterinary office stating that the doctor had preformed far more than a laceration repair. It was stated that he had went in and cut out a part of my cats intestines, resulting in an additional $3280.00 being added to my bill. On top of that, my cat needed to be supervised 24/7 at a veterinary clinic for days after this because of this unauthorized procedure, resulting in even more costs, at this point, totaling $10,000. I was never advised that this additional, extremely invasive surgery would be taking place and was only told after it was completed. Had I been properly advised of this, I would not have consented to it. Also, she had to spend additional days in a veterinary clinic being monitored, which caused me to incur even more costs.I had no choice but to pay the remainder of this bill, as the form I signed stated that I would not be getting my cat back if I did not pay in full and I would be responsible for the bill even if the doctor disposed of my cat in whatever way he sees fit. My cat died shortly after the unauthorized procedure. It seems that practices such as this are commonplace with this business while looking at reviews online. I would like to warn others not to bring their animals here.

    Business Response

Shame on ******************,  His elderly dog was brought in on emergency to our practice with a deep laceration at the base of the tail after possibly being hit by a car. (dog was brought in after being found in the middle of the street)   Our doctor felt it would be negligent to sedate this pet without proper diagnostics.  She was concerned about internal bleeding and possible fractures as pet was having difficulty walking.    Yes, anyone can  "sew up a laceration"  but not doing a proper work up is malpractice.

shame on them for their response...

my dog was walking just fine and it was clearly just a cut ... to estimate a cost of **** for a ***** or 2 is criminal.

they also charged me 295 for the office visit when the going rate is between 75-100

they clearly tried to take adavantage of the situation.. ionce again **** for treating a cut leaves me speachless.. i am investigating other options if a refund isnt fortcoming.
