On 9/16/22 at 12:37pm I contacted Crane Company because I smelled a slight smell of gas from the top of my basement stairs the smell appeared to be coming from the hot water tank which was installed by Crane Company. I called there office and spoke with a woman and explained to her what the problem was, I then asked will there be a service fee to come out being that your Company installed the hot water tank. The woman said she was not sure and to let her ask someone. She put me on hold for approx. 2-3 min. When she returned to phone she appeared to upset snuffling, and said no you are all set. I said thank you. I then asked if she had allergies. She responded no. She stated that she was having a bad day. I really felt bad and sympathize with the woman. And I stated I hope she have a good rest of the day and a good weekend. She replied she will try. I then got a missed call from an unfamiliar telephone number. I returned the call, it was a Crane Co. worker who stated he'll be to my home within an hour, he was driving from DeWitt. About an hour an a half a guy from Crane Company arrived. I explained about the gas smell. He checked it out. He said he could not smell anything. Then he went to his company vehicle to get a type of spray I to help him detect if there's a gas leak. At this time I was leaving, and told him someone in the house can help him if he needed anything. Guy was pleasant enough. I got a call from my son and he told me that the guy said I owe $135 for a service call. I told my son they told me there was no service fee. My son then said the guy said she'll have to take it up with the company. When I returned home I placed a call to the Crane Company and a young lady answered and I explained about the previous representative who told me there's NO service charge, and I was all set. I explained I could have called ***** for free but she told me there was no service fee She asked me who I spoke to. I told her I spoke with. Cont see attachment
