On October 21st, 2023 my wife and I were married at *** ***** *** in Vernon, NY. The DJ for the recepetion was provided by Say I Do events. We filled out an online form provided by the venue to specify our music choices along with special dances and announcements. We picked out all of our dinner music, our cake cutting song, and a sample of the dance genre we like to dance to. We also specified a special announcement for an 80th birthday . We asked the DJ to play r&b and mix in some country music.
During dinner hour he stopped playing our music and mixed in some of his own that did not belong. There was no reason for this as we picked out enough songs to cover our dinner.
He missed our special cake cutting song. My wife told him that he missed it. His response was "I'm sorry, I'll make up for it".
He missed the 80th Birthday announcement as well.
Then came time for dancing. He ignored our request to play r&b and country. My wife and I had to address this multiple times.
Music and dancing is an imortant part of a wedding, if not the most important part. He ruined an important part of our wedding. We along with our guest were looking forward to a night of dancing for months.
We contacted the owner, his response was " I fired the DJ"
We feel we deserve compensation for the service we did not fully recieve.
