I purchased a four family residential property in ***************************************************************************** April 2022, I found that the sewer system had a back up. After calling several plumbers and having them attempt to clear the blockage it was determined that the block was somewhere deeper, maybe under the sidewalk, which was more than where a plumber alone could locate it. So on 5/31/22, I hired DACC ***** Piping who worked with Best Plumbing and Heating. At first I was told the job would cost $6500. I paid that and received a call later on in the day informing me that they still couldnt find the blockage so they would have to hire an excavator to dig into the street and the job would cost me $33,000. DACC Piping still working with ***** from Best Plumbing and Heating and now also with Iron Town Construction (excavator) completed the job. I paid the $33.000 to get the job done which was completed around 6/3/22. After the job was completed I realized that they didnt have to go deep into the street as they said they would so I asked if some of my funds could be returned. All of my conversations were with ******** from DACC ***** Piping. I have never met ***** from Best Plumbing and Heating or *** from Irontown Construction. But ******** agreed that some of the funds should be returned to me and he informed me that *** agreed as well and would return some of my funds. My sidewalk was also not put back to its original state and after calling ******** for two month and he completely stop responding about a month ago I finally got the name of **** company and contacted him. My sidewalk was just completed this week and I still havent been returned any funds. I am requesting that some of my funds be returned as agreed by ******** and from what he told me *** and although Its completed now it shouldnt have taken two months to get the sidewalk restored. My tenants complained for weeks about it.

*************** to the letter I received from your organization. Your ID# ********. I was contracted to excavate for a plumbing company that was making a repair at ** **************** ************, **.
The repair was a broken sewer line that went in to the street. The plumber and I agreed on a price before I started. I advised the plumber that we would not be repairing the sidewalk for a period of time so that the ground could settle. I backfilled the sidewalk with top quality Item #4 stone and leveled it so it could be walked on without incident. It should be noted that the sewer lines in the ******************** are old clay **** which cannot be compacted with a mechanical compactor, thus the need to allow additional time for the ground to settle. I was paid in full for the agreed upon price. The new sidewalk has since been installed as contracted.

    Respectfully,

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

    [Your Answer Here]

They didnt have to go far into the street as initially told to me. At the end I was told that I would be refunded a portion of the payment because they didnt have to go deep into the street as expected. I was expecting to receive some of my funds as discussed with the plumber but then I didnt hear from the plumber and didnt know who the excavator was. I had to contact DPW to find out he is and that took two months.

Furthermore, he didnt mention anything about the funds that were promised to me in his response.

Also, I understood that the ground needed time to settle but two month is a bit much. My tenants complained every day about the eyesore and the fact that they were tripping and felt it was unsafe.

Id like to know if I will be refunded any of my funds as told to me.

In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

    Sincerely,
