The worse incompetent company to work with. Invoice came in October as I was hoping for insulation for the winter. Company could only work on my basement as I was told they were having trouble with their equipment. Next visit scheduled I believe in March and I had to call them as they were at my house when scheduled and again trouble with staff or equipment. Finally they came in April to finish my house insulation. All they could do was a small attic as my house had issues due to its construction. I had a balance from my first deposit and wanted an update as the attic price was never broken down from the whole house price. No dimensions for the attic nor how much insulation per square foot cost was given. Just that an additional $561.39 was requested. So the small attic space would cost $2,873.81 and the whole house would have been $3,450.45??????? Guess Hugh the owner didn't want to lose out on the original invoice so he just sent off this ridiculous, high price invoice. I was then threatened that they would put a lien on my house in 2 weeks and no explaining where their number came from probably because they couldn't. I have filed a lien on the property and will not release it until we are paid.  We received an email from the consumer this morning stating that she now understands the reason for the lien and she will be paying.  However, we will not remove the lien until we are paid.

She will be forwarding the email from the cons.

I'm looking into the legality of amount you are charging for the lien and all of your billing practices.  As I have said, I have absolutely no trust that you would file the lien release with all of our interactions.  I didn't have a problem with your workers. They were quite professional and had great feedback when I had any questions.  If your office had just explained to me why I did not get a refund and that there was an additional charge of $561 when I requested that multiple times we would not be here. The only way this occurred is when I reached out to the state department that is no way to run a business.

Sorry, that’s not how it works. I have an outside company do my liens; fee stands. Yes, I have 2 liens on file in Essex County,  I am foreclosing on their homes for not paying, Plus I foreclosed on a house in Warren County.

Once I receive payment of $1061.39 and the check clears, I will file the lien release.

Lien fee at Essex county is $15.  Appears to be an illegal fee here.  I would love to pay my bill finally that the state sent me the information  I had asked many times from your office but you never sent me but you did send the state which is very interesting.  When I asked Essex county how I could make sure the lien was removed they said you need to sign paperwork and then bring it to them. I told them I have no trust that that would be done because look how you never sent me the information I asked for but did send it only when the state probably demanded it.  If you get the lien paperwork ready I will send a check, venmo or sell you the $561 and that $15 lien fee. But I need the lien release signed by you and then I will make sure that Essex county office gets it. They had said you have at least 8 to 10 liens up there and not all have been satisfied and I wondered if it was because they weren't paid or you just vindictively didn't file the paperwork.  Let me know how you proceed with this as I have to update quite a few agencies.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 06/05/2025

I asked for clarification of the $500 lien fee as Essex County charges $15 for the lien.  I was only given the total price and the following description without any cost for each:

      Preparing the lien document.
Serving the lien by certified mail.
      Verifying the property owner.
Potential fees charged by attorneys or lien filing services.

I have received nothing by certified mail.  How much does each cost and with the way this company bills I would expect the total price under $500 and the company pocketing the remainder.

Their invoice date 5/8/2025 shows the cost breakdown in blue handwriting without a date and did they say when this was sent to me because it wasn't - no proof then not true. The NYS Consumer Protection sent the invoice with cost breakdown to me as well as the paperwork for a lien on June 3, 2025 at 1:39pm and the first time I saw cost breakdown.  North East Spray realized I received the info as they were on the complaint and forwarded me the email on June 3, 2025 at 3:04 pm. First time North East sent me cost breakdown.  Invoice with $500 lien (without breakdown) sent June 4, 2025 at 8:09 am.
