I gave a $100 deposit for transportation services to *********** for 4 people for April 12. As of April 10 they had not confirmed a pick up time or any other details. I had to go with another company. They refused to give me my deposit back.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/29/2025

We did reply. This client canceled his trip the deposit was to hold the date that he no longer wanted. Client also called harassing the company with threats. Every transportation company holds deposits so we dont lose money on holding dates for people that they do not use. When all arrangements for trip were made everything was confirmed. We also double confirm the day before the trip which was when we were notified he no longer wanted the date because he had family picking him up. We were not  responsible for canceling this trip it was the client. Then weeks later the client started calling the company phone to the point we couldnt get any other calls or do our jobs, thats when he began threatening us with the BBB and everything he could think of. We are no longer accepting trips for anyone. Cerratos Transportation is now closed. This client is out of control and abusing the BBB for his benefit.

On Feb. 20, 2025, I texted ******** *******, the owner of ********* Transportation, to request an airport pickup for my mom. ******** texted me back on Feb. 21. After a few text messages and a phone call, we agreed to $240 for the airport pick up, which I paid via Venmo that day. On Feb. 25th, I texted ******** to let her know that my mom's flight was cancelled and that she was now arriving on a different date and provided my mom's new flight details. ******** texted back "I've got you covered as always." That was the last time ******** replied to any of my texts or calls. I texted ******** the day before my mom's flight to confirm the pick up- no reply. I texted ******** several times on the day of my mom's flight- no reply. I have photos that show my text messages were being read. I left a few voicemail messages, no response. When my mom arrived, I called ******** again, but no answer. I had no other option, but to get my mom an ***** costing $421.85. ******** could have texted me to let me know that she was unable to provide transportation. I would have found other transportation or I would have arranged child care and picked up my mom myself. But the complete lack of communication leading up my mom's arrival, is completely unacceptable, especially when I requested confirmation 31 hours prior to scheduled pick up. I have filed a dispute with ***** for a refund of the $240 paid to Cerratos Transportation and am waiting a response. I am hopeful that since transportation was not provided by Cerratos Transportation, I will receive this refund. ********** lack of customer service and communication forced me to spend $421.85 on an *****

    Customer Answer

    Hi,

There are two separate charges.  I paid Cerratos Transportation $240, the amount we agreed upon via text on Feb. 21, 2025 via Venmo when I scheduled the airport pick up for my mom.  I disputed the charge on March 2nd, when the driver did not show up at the airport.  I just checked and there is no update on my dispute.  I do not believe Venmo will be able to give me a refund.  If it helps with my BBB complaint, I can cancel my Venmo dispute.

The second charge was for $421.85.  This is what I ended up paying for the last minute **** I was forced to use when Cerratos Transportation did not respond to my text messages for 31 hours leading up to the airport pick up.  Had Cerratos Transportation notified me that they were not able to pick up my mom, I would have made other, less costly arrangements, but because I had pre-paid and used Cerratos Transportation in the past, I did not make alternate arrangements.  If I was unable to find reasonably priced alternate airport pickup, I would have gotten a babysitter for $75 and went to pick up my mom myself.

Cerratos cost me $240 for a prepaid airport pick up, where they were a no-show.

And $421.85 for a very costly last minute ****.  I was prepared to pay $240 for an airport, pick up, but not $422!

It would be fair and reasonable for Cerratos to reimburse me $422 for the **** ride; it would be as if I paid $240 for the airport pick up, which is what I was planning on paying.

I hope this clarifies my complaint and request.   If there are any other questions, please call me at ************.
