    I purchased a sewing machine from Frank Amelio on Feb. 24, 2018. I took it to him for repair in Oct. 2022. The machine would stop sewing, turn itself off, and restart, over and over, making sewing impossible. Over the course of the next year, I called him multiple times to inquire of the progress of the repair. He was busy, he had been ill, he was on vacation, he had gone to see the grandchildren, he was going to send the machine to the company, and on and on. I was quite patient. Last fall, my friend *** ***** went with me to check on my sewing machine. Frank had it set up and proclaimed it was fixed. I sat down to test it, and it did the same thing as before. It was not fixed at all. On Nov. 29, 2023, I fell on ice and broke my hip, so I didn't call for six months. Today, May 9, 2024, my friend and I went to Amelio. All I wanted was to get my machine back. Frank had several stories. He didn't know where it was. (We waited while he looked.) He sold it because I told him I didn't want it. (I never told him that.) The estimate he gave me was too high, and I didn't want it repaired. (I never got an estimate.) He had to send it to the company. (He never did.) He brought out the power foot, however. Who would buy a machine that didn't work and had no foot? All I wanted was my machine. Nothing was resolved. My friend did corroborate that the machine had been there last fall, and that it didn't work.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  The business, however, stated the sewing machine is in working order. It was not repaired, but I accepted it as is and consider my complaint closed.
