    I hired Blaze Brockway on May 12th of 2023 to replace two roofs. At the time I was ignorant of NYS law, paid in full without a contract or knowing the law involving escrow or bonding. From the get go it was a nightmare, never showing up when he said, never really communicating plans, and when he did start he, without informing me before the fact, put down new sheathing claiming code enforcement made him do it and said he needed more money. This is when I called code and found out that he lied about them forcing full replacement as filling the gaps was was also an option he never gave me. Funny the roofs that have no attic underneath to check are squishy meaning he didn't actually replace sheathing where it was needed. He Then lied about the roofs being inspected not realizing I had been in contact with code through the ordeal. He was informed that I knew they weren't inspected but he insisted that they had been despite code enforcement saying otherwise. I requested inspection myself, blaze did not show up, but the inspector failed both roofs immediately 7/24/23. Blaze was informed by code of failures and he said he would take care of it. Nearly 3 months of mostly ignored texts or vague responses and nothing has been done. I've now hired several reputable roofers to do an inspection and the amount of issues are far beyond what I originally thought. Valleys unbonded, bad or no flashing, shingles where should have been rolled roofing, the roofs that were rolled roofing are not overlapped, the list goes on, links provided below are from a reputable roofer and this was the more gentle of 3 reports I have so far. Absolutely the worst experience I've had with a contractor. I can no longer trust his work and I've been more than patient, at minimum he needs to give me a full refund so I can hire a proper professional to redo the work he clearly is too incompetent to do.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 20748914, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

    Hi Kevin, thanks for getting back to me. I am rejecting because he is lying. He's never sincerely tried to resolve the situation. He has never reached out to me, I've always had to reach out to him.  On Friday lf last week he said he wanted to "make things right," but didn't directly address everything that is required to do so. He also said he would be there this past Monday but never showed up and I haven't heard from him since. As for resolution, I have spelled it out for him multiple times, that either A, he give me a full refund or B, a written contract explaining in detail the work he plans to do including a full tear down and then for the work to be completed ASAP as winter is almost here. Attached in a screen grab of our conversation from the point of where I confronted him about lying in his response to you. If needed I can export it to pdf for you.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.   

    The matter will not be resolved until the work is done and verified to the proper standards.  Our text exchanges have been going on for quite some time and are often vague and ultimately they mean nothing if it is not followed through.   Again, this is not resolved until the work is actually done and verified by a professional to be done to the proper standards.  And being that it is the end of November, it needs to happen soon.
