I met with ****** ******, Nurse Practitioner, to go over my medical evaluation which I did not receive until this week after two years of service. There were many errors on the evaluation including my age, two of the diagnoses, errors about medical history, etc. My practitioner refused to correct the evaluation, and there was a long delay in hearing back from my practitioner's manager.Initial Complaint

I used this service in early 2024 and haven't used it since. I have disputed this charge 2 times now but every few weeks, they charge me again or send numerous emails claiming I owe them. I have changed my card twice, emailed them twice in 6 months, disputed the charged twice. I am in no financial situation to be giving out $130 every few weeks when they decide I owe them. I don't even remember attending sessions. All I have an email of a provider cancelled session from March 2024.Customer Answer

I went to mindful care seeking mental health assistance. They provided me with false information on several occasions. They over charged me for service and refuse to refund my money. They had multiple associates call me in a day to tell me contradicting things about my appointments, insurance and rearranging sessions. They told me the service would be $150, then sent me a link to pay $175. I paid it and they claimed they never received payment. I sent in receipts to witch they finally acknowledged the payment and told me I over paid.they said I could use for my next session but I never had another one, because the told me it would be $50 per session and when I went to pay they told me it was actually $100. So I canceled with them on their website as well as several times by phone. They would call me every week to tell me my session was canceled due to non payment or insurance wont cover, despite my consistent cancelations. I emailed their admin and the apologized but are now giving me the run around about the $25 refund.Initial Complaint

I was scammed by Mindful Care.I initially reached out looking for help with Adderall addiction as the website clearly states they specialize in Addiction Recovery. I explained in my very first email with the practice (which was over 1 month ago) my situation. I even reiterated it to the person I spoke to on the phone. I was assured that there was a doctor that could help me with medical Adderall withdrawal as I have been having an extremely distressing time getting off of it. I have to work multiple jobs to care for my family and down days are not an option. This is the only reason I made this appointment. While the psychiatrist was extremely kind, it was abundantly clear that he had no idea why we were meeting. Very soon into the appointment he informed me that not only could he not help me get off the Adderall slowly with a lower dose because he is not permitted to prescribe it through Mindful Care, but there is nothing else (especially since he works through Mindful Care) that he can do for **** am outraged that this company made me spend $175 dollars for a ten-minute appointment, when they knew, from the beginning, that there was nothing that could be done for me.They should be ashamed of the way they do business!Business Response

Although the patient may have been misinformed by a new staff member prior to her initial appointment, the policies around controlled substances are clearly outlined on the company website and patients acknowledge agreement to these policies during the registration process. The provider handled this appropriately. There is nothing else clinically that we can offer this patient. It clearly states on the website that Mindful Recovery treats opioid and alcohol use disorder only. We do not treat stimulant dependency. The patient said in the complaint that she was looking for a lower dose of Adderall to help her taper off - our policies clearly say we don't offer that. Please see attached our policies. Additionally, since the full appointment did not take place, we have issued a refund to the patient.Initial Complaint

I was mistakenly charged for an appointment that did not take place years ago. I resolved the issue and produced written confirmation I dont owe the supposed $30.00 balance but every couple months for the last 2 years this company texts and emails me I still owe it. I can never get a person on the phone and no one ever responds to my emails with the proof of the incorrect charge.Business Response

Hi, thank you for writing. This individual paid for 1 out of 2 sessions. We have documentation for two completed video conference appointments along with their confirmed participation in the video session.
That said, discuss further we will need a HIPAA release. Regarding the balance, we cannot waive copays for legal reasons, but we can write it off if the patient is experiencing hardship.

Last year I saw a provide (*******************) through Mindful Care to help treat depression. She is a nurse practitioner only and I was surprised she'd be in charge of the mental health of people and prescribing psychiatric medications (a job typically entrusted with someone who went to school for this, i.e. a psychiatrist) but help was hard to find and I just needed someone. In the end, it was a huge mistake. Within the span of 4 weeks only, we changed my medication (whether dosage, removal or addition) no fewer than TEN TIMES. After the fact I asked multiple other physicians about it who were aghast at the carelessness. The very last thing Aasta did was take me off a medication I'd been on for 15 YEARS (WITHOUT TAPERING) AS WELL AS up a dosage of a brand new medication. I spent the night in the *** My heart rate was SPIKING and dropping, I was having violent convulsions (among other symptoms) and had my very first panic attack (a door that now opened, is not closing.) I was completely terrified and suffered suicidal ideation after from the complete chemical imbalance created in my brain. I tried to reach out to Mindful Care (who employs her) to state my concern because I am deeply troubled she is still entrusted with people's health. They are not only not helping with this, they want to come after me for those visits. ON PRINCIPLE ALONE I absolutely refuse to pay for this. It could be $1. It's not the money. I have paid all other medical bills with everyone on time and in full. I do not owe anyone any money. But I REFUSE to pay for this and I INSIST on this provider being looked into. I've now passed on my medical bill to them so they can understand that this cost $2,500 (to me + my insurance.) THIS IS NOT OKAY. This woman COULD COST SOMEONE THEIR LIVES. So the bill aside, what I want is for this woman to not be in charge of people's mental health.Initial Complaint

This health care provider is harming their patients with their negligence. Theyre suppose to be helping mentally ill patients and instead they're doing more harm than good. I have been trying to get in contact with them for weeks to book an appointment. I was finally able to get through to someone today and book an appointment for 3:40 PM. I had to see a different provider since they're constantly leaving. Its a revolving door. Around 12 PM I realized I was not sent a zoom link. I then spent the next 4 hours trying to get in contact with someone. It is now 4:23 PM and Ive been hung up on by everyone I spoke to. The only person I spoke to said they couldn't do anything for me but send a message to the scheduling team who isn't answering the phone. She also said she can send me a 7 day prescription but refuses to because I don't have an appointment. Meanwhile I had an appointment at 3:40PM today and no one sent me a link. I suffer from PTSD and Anxiety which is why I go to them in the first place. I haven't had my medication in a week which is dangerous to go cold turkey with no medication. These people don't care about the well being of their patients and need to be shut down! Their treatment is now becoming dangerous. Attached are the many calls I made as well as reviews from other patients complaining of the same problem!
