I took my 1978 **** ***** 440c log skidder to TNRrepair to have a steering issue fixed I was quoted 3000$ to fix the machine,.I gave them 1500 up front an paid 500$ a couple times after the 1500 deposit. I then paid the balance off 3,107.71. The receipt says I paid 2100.00 on 7/26/2022 then on 8/26/2022 I paid another 3107.71. I picked up the machine to start a job and when I got it to the job, the machine was doing the exact same thing as when it was picked up and take to TNR. I picked up the machine on the 29 of August and it's been broken down till this day. I want a full refund and to be paid for lost wages as well as a rental machine so I can get this job done and get my machine fixed.

    Business Response

    Date: 09/28/2022

***** contacted us in December 2021 with issues on his **** ***** skid steer.  We wrote a quote up and sent to his insurance for an estimated value of $4,425.05 (quote is attached).  ***** stated that the quote was approved by his insurance and to go ahead with the work.

We sent the blade control and steering column out to be rebuilt.  We were notified by our vendor the steering column could not be rebuilt and he would need a new one. We spoke to ***** in January  and asked if he would like us to buy a new steering column for it for $2,000. He approved the purchase.  We told him he would have to pay up front before we purchased the steering column. ***** stopped in and paid $800 on 2/7/2022, $500 on 2/11/2022 and $500 on 2/24/2022. We ordered the steering column on 2/17/2022.

After installing everything, we called ***** to let him know there was still issues and the cylinder would need to be repacked.  We called and text numerous times and could not get a hold of him. We let the machine sit and notified him he would need to pay in full for the work already done before we would continue with any further work.  He stopped in on 4/26/2022 and paid $300.  At this point the invoice was at $5,200.00 and we were still waiting on payment of $3,100.00 before we would continue any work.  We still could not get in contact with ***** for months.  We then started the Garageman's Lien process with All NY Lien's Inc. on 7/26/2022 (with a $300.00 fee).

***** then contacted us in August stating he would pay his bill in full and did not want us to continue working on it and he would pick it up.  He made a full payment of $3,100.00 on 8/26/2022.  He picked up his machine on 8/29/2022 and that point and time the machine was operable and steering in both directions as he loaded it on the trailer. He spoke to the mechanics and was told that is was not fixed and would still need work done.  ***** stated it was fine and he would take care of it himself. The steering columns 90 day warranty has since expired and any warranty work.  We do not offer warranty work on an incomplete repair due to customers refusal to repair completely. He has reached out since and asked for us to make a road call and come look at the machine.  We told him we would not be doing any more work on the machine unless we had payment up front. He was then mad and said he would be contacting the BBB.

I have attached the original quote and final invoice
