In September of 2022, Anthony C*********, owner, provided an estimate for a concrete driveway at my home. The driveway was poured in May of 2023. Several months ago, in March 2024 less than one year after install, I noticed significant pitting. I sent photos to the owner and he stopped by but took zero responsibility. I called and emailed him numerous times prior to last winter as he had promised to come and seal the driveway. He never came. Now we have a less than one-year-old driveway that looks as though it's more than 10 years old. His response is "that never happened before." So, here we are. I could use some assistance with this. I am also attaching a complaint that I found for same company and very similar to mine.

Our company does NOT DO reseal we are a concrete contractor not a sealing contractor. We do the original coat and then refer cutomers to several companies we trust to do the reseal. That has always been our policy it has never changed.  We strongly advise all of our customers to get a second sealing on a new driveway to avoid spauling from freezing, and salt over the winter. It just so happens that a friend of mine saw to a man sealing her driveway with water based sealer on a day where the conditions were not acceptable to seal. He sent me a photo, and it is time date stamped. I have attched the photo image.

There are multiple reasons this sealing application was a poor decision:

1)**** is not a sealer of choice, it is sold over the counter and it is a water base (a professional would use a solvant base), you do not get the same protective result. Water based sealer is not best for this application,

it will not hold up to weather conditions and salt over the winter.

2)It is the wrong way to apply sealer, a professional would spray an even coat.

    3) There was rain prior to the sealing ... so it basically sealed in the moisture.

    4) Any freezing temperatures 24-48 hours after a water based sealer is applied can compromise the surface of the concrete.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The owner neglected to share that he ignored my many calls and emails asking him to return to seal the driveway which he DID say he would do. After several months, based on his original recommendation for reseal (which he again stated he would do) I hired someone I did not know. Not once did Anthony tell me that he could not/would not do the work. He told me I was on the list. When I spoke with Anthony last month, he said he would use his special blend of sealant and come and seal the driveway. Apparently, he does seal driveways, when he chooses to do so. I do not understand why Anthony said he would do something that he clearly did not intend to do. Anthony, just say NO!!!!

    12,000 dollars down the drain.

    Regards,
