      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Dear Sir or Madam, This letter is in regard to the response from Green Star ,attached you will find photos of the damages that were done to my home, when they blew insulation in the walls.      *damages visibly shown (pictures) below attached *My Grandson dealt with the company's crew when they arrived, while I laid in bed recovering trying to get some more rest because I was sick & in bed.I was given a clipboard with a near blank white paper-sheet that read "Name" & "Date".I question "How come is there only a name & date to sign?" In all honesty I wasn't going to question something I didn't think would be an issue since they assured me with "all the information necessary” before they could start the job. After a few hours, I went to check the basement , I also was not told t initially that the spray insulation foam on the walls were pet-friendly or not. I had no context of that being safe whatsoever and so I was upset initially, & concerned for my two cat's health. Then when I went to check to sides of the house, all I notice are missing corners pieces, sidings sticking out, and no sense of professionalism in sight. After a visitation from another employee, Randy from The Green Star© , they went to see it for themselves while My Grandson was there present helping me inform Randy , but he insisted that this was the way they’re way of putting the sidings back up, and the only thing they can offer (initially) is to caulk the sides. To make an example of how easily the side pieces could tear up, I only lifted the side piece next to the one they "did",& it immediately flung up. Removing the nail in the process. They still said they couldn't anything about that , and that they don't cover missing pieces for corners. Not to mention the siding that they attempted (Which was to caulk to it). After realizing i couldn't stand being upset & didn't want to feel more worse by blaming him specifically, i went inside and let my grandson try to explain to him where I was coming from. So I waited till hopefully to maybe getting some contact information to who would install these pieces.Eventually before the man left, he let us know that he would get us 'an order of the missing corner pieces, fix (caulking ) sides of house, along with fixing the back side piece that flung open. However they claimed they couldn't install the pieces, or order any pieces at all whatsoever. That wasn't the case when ‘Randy’ himself said he would order the corner pieces (that we're identical to those missing), and thankfully we're 'eventually' delivered. I was very Thankful for it , and didn't want to overstress everything more by asking if they could also install the pieces, maybe even someone The Company might've known hopefully. I was told to call a number from The Green Star© , which then led to a confirming sign that the side pieces we're confirmed to be installed by the company themselves. All this on the same day the corner pieces we're finally delivered(which remains uninstalled till this day) along with the caulking of the side pieces along my house. This "confirmation" of the pieces being installed was on a phone call from another worker from 'The Green Star©' .Contradictions & Disappointments another after another..   Thank You very much for taking the time to read over my situation ____

We did a job for ******* ********* on October 18th 2024. We take pictures of the house before work is done.  There was existing damage to the siding on the house.  We require a signed waiver before we do our work because we can not be responsible for pre existing damages.  There was a piece of siding that came off after we did work, we came back and fixed and secured the siding, the customer wanted additional siding fixed that again was pre existing.  I attached a picture that we took in July 2024 and I attached a ****** image from ****** maps stating the year 2020.  I also attached a copy of the signed waiver.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ******** , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. I appreciate Tara's response. Mentioning that I qualified for the NYS program has no impact on our discussion. I am grateful that I qualified for the program. Damaging my siding in the process and then refusing to pay to fix the damages is the issue. Greenstar did damage the siding and Tara was aware of the damage. I have already described this in my previous submission to the BBB. Additionally, I previously described how their worker came to fix the damage but he said he did not have the equipment to fix it. I provided a solid piece of siding and did not want it cut in two pieces. This did not seem necessary. When I had it repaired by someone else no special equipment was needed and they installed the siding up without it being cut in two pieces. Regards,
      ***** *****
lled his supervisor to notify Greenstar of the damage. I was standing beside him when he called. I sent Randy pictures of the siding and invited him to see the damage. I don't know if he came by to see it. I sent you the estimate. I did find a piece of siding to match what I have.
8/21/2023 Randy Said he was sending Joe and Nate on Wednesday to do work. I voiced my concern since Joe was the one who had trouble and damaged the siding. I said I would be willing to have them try again but if they do not fix it the way it was then they will pay for someone else to fix it. Randy could not agree to this. I asked to speak with the boss of Greenstar. Randy said boss would call me. Crew from GreenStar was sent to repair siding. Joe, Rob, and Nate came to fix siding. Joe stated they did not have the appropriate equipment to fix siding. Joe called Randy to inform him we needed other equipment to fix siding properly.
9/6/2023 Dan (owner) called me. He stated they will only patch the siding. He will not pay to remove the 1 panel of damaged siding and replacing it with siding I was supplying. Dan said he will get an attorney so he did not have to pay me. I told him just patching the siding was not acceptable because the siding would still be bent and there is no guarantee how long the patch would last. The pictures I sent him of the siding show that the cut and puncture marks more clearly. It also appears that some of the insulation was pushing out the siding. Since Greenstar cannot fix the damage, I had the siding repaired by Lifetime Siding Roofing and Construction for $500. I sent GreenStar the invoice from Lifetime Construction. I never heard from GreenStar. FYI..Lifetime Construction didn’t need any special equipment. They used 1 ladder to fix the siding.

BBB spoke to Tara and the following was relayed: This was an insulation job through NY State. The customer was not the one who paid us.  We are not sure that we even damaged the siding but when she called we said we would fix it for her.  We went out to fix it and she did not like what we were proposing for the repair and she told us not to (she did not want a seam and there was no other way.  We did not tell her that we would pay to have it fixed.  After a few months she sent us a bill for the repair.
