I’m filing this complaint to try and save others from going through what happened to us. We gave Reyes money upfront for a large backyard parked (concrete, overhead patio, multiple door installations and more). After many excuses and proven lies over the course of 1 full year, we finally cut ties. We lived with half done construction for over 1 year…the work they ended up doing was terrible and needs to be redone. After cutting ties, I received calls from Reyes subcontractors about not receiving payments and demanding money. I had paid Reyes for this already, but they never paid their subcontractors.

We paid this company $60,000 per our contract for building materials & labor costs up front. Project started in June and was to be completed in 3 months. We have not received the building materials and the company never shows up to work. It’s been 3 months and my house has been left a disaster (see photo). I’ve asked for a refund. I’ve asked for completion dates or when they even plan to come back to work and continue to be lied to with no progress.

To be completely honest, In the beginning we had 12 guy crew and now we are down to 3 guys plus myself.  Unfortunately, with the work we already have, we got behind on the workload and the consumer just did not want to work with me. The consumer sent us a certified letter asking for us to finish the job by a certain date and on this past Monday, we were getting all the materials ready to go there the next day and the consumer advised us not to come.  I pleaded with her to let us finish the job, however, she would not.  Also, when we originally excavated, the weather would not work with us and it keep raining and we could not go forward until the weather would allow us and the consumer was aware of this.  I have contacted my attorney and he will be sending a letter to the consumer advising of the materials purchased, which will be returned and amount of refund.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

This company “no call/no showed” 15 different times with u in 4 months. Our building permits were not even picked up and paid for until 8/22/23. Two months after demo was started. If the company lost all their employees and could not take on our job we should have been notified and received a refund months ago. Instead we were dragged along, robbed and lied to multiple times. The certified letter we sent Mr. Reyes on 9/23/23 was our last chance opportunity for him to get the job done after multiple attempts via phone calls and in person meets. He never acknowledged receiving the letter and never returned it signed to us agreeing to complete the job. He did however tell us he we be there on 10/2/23 at 8:30 am and never showed. We even text him multiple times throughout the day and no response. He finally returned my husbands call at 5pm to advise us he was at a different job all day so he could finish that and get money to work on ours the next day. Meaning he had 4 business days left to finish foundation, frame a 448 sq ft room, install windows, doors and shingle the entire roof. In 4 months he worked a total of 29.5 hours at our place it was impossible at that point for even half of that to be completed by him in 4 days. He just refuses to admit any wrong doing and we would like $55,000 back ASAP so we can hire someone else to help us fix this mess he created for us.

      Regards,
