    We paid a deposit of $40,310 for home extension and remodel on March 28, 2023. The permit was being processed at the time. Once the permit was finally approved in January 2024 Ironwood Design and Build said their Suffolk county license had expired but would be renewed shortly. **** ********, the owner and contractor, gave us the run around for 2 months and finally offered to return our money because he could not complete the job. However, we have not received a refund to date. He has been giving us one story after another for months promising the refund but now is not returning calls and has not given our money back. He did absolutely NO work. He claimed our money was with the building supply store, then his business accounts were frozen due to fraud his soon to be ex wife had committed, then he promised to get the money another way but it was all just stories to try to keep us from taking legal action.
