They deserve a negative or zero rating. In December 2023, I called SERVPRO and spoke to someone re: flooding in my basement. Two workers named Jovany told me about the services they would provide (clean up, deodorizing and washing and drying of clothes). I told them that I did not have a lot of money and wanted an ESTIMATE for the cost for services; I was told it would be provided later. I also told them that my mother was very ill, hospitalized and that I wanted to know the cost in order to budget for it and could not handle anything in the tens of thousands in fees--again I was told that someone in the office would provide the cost. I stressed that I could not have them do anything other than clean-up until I saw an estimate because I could not afford any high costs. The shorter Jovany also told me not to "worry about it" because ServPro would speak to the insurance company and discuss cost as they had previous experience with doing so; taller Jovany told me that they would take pictures of all of the items in the basement (for insurance), WASH AND DRY ("we have people that do that") all of the clothes that may have been wet due to the flooding and "bag up" items that weren't damaged but that needed to be away from the area. I was told that items and clothes would be returned to us once they were washed and dried. Clothes still not returned to us, LINE TO MY OIL TANK WAS DAMAGED BY THEM (verified by oil company employee), and flooring and lower part of the walls were dug up and not replaced/restored. After numerous requests for an ESTIMATE of clean-up costs and voicing my dissatisfaction with their practices, I received a bogus invoice for over $30,000 months later. For what? To rip up flooring, bottom half of the walls and cutting a hole in the basement ceiling? After speaking to ***** about my mother's subsequent death, ***** told me to "settle things", then reach back out. I subsequently received an almost $60,000 bill. $2,000-$3,000 maybe, not $60,000!
