Finger Management is prejudiced and financially irresponsible. I lived in a predominantly Black-American area of ******** in a building managed by Finger Management. Hispanic employees were often disrespectful and dismissive of Blacks who reported issues. Many times (in the case a repair was granted to a Black resident) Black residents were fined or held responsible to pay the repair costs (and told only after the repair was done)the same was not true of non-Black residents: their repairs were often paid for by the Corporation. Non-Black residents also avoided fines. Their acts and omissions towards Black residents went beyond dismissing urgent concerns, unprofessional and disrespectful communications, and targeted fines and fees mostly demanded from and collected by Finger Management from residents that are Black, in a multi-racial building. Finger Management preferred to hire Hispanicsdespite their comparative qualification, ability, or suitability when compared to other non-Hispanic vendors, and despite resident feedback work quality was poor.In some cases, a Hispanic repair person could not speak English (at all!) and had to call a third-person to translate; a Hispanic vendor used pieces of sweater to plug a hole in residents ceiling; another Hispanic vendor was suspected by the resident to be homeless: he smelled very bad, and later broke a working piece of the residents bathtubdifferent from what he was sent to fix. That resident was later charged for his repair service. Vendors they claimed to have screened were little more than poorly designed web pages (some charged anyone who claimed to be a licensed professional in that field to post their business on that web page): they merely farmed out third-parties to do work. My recommendation: draft a Bill of Rights with a minimum standard of care required from any entity or person your property contracts with, and ask your fellow residents to insist on it. FIRE Finger Management if you can.

I am currently living in a co-op managed by Finger Management, and honestly, getting this co-op was the worst decision ever. For a new building only being occupied for 2 years, it is surely ran down. Issues after issues that never have a solid resolution. My biggest gripe with the management company was a plumbing issue that caused damage in my unit. Apparently a resident tried a DIY project, that utterly failed There was an immense leak from the unit above that caused cracks in my ceiling and flooded my bathroom floor. When I saw the leak, I called the Super and he told me that the apartment above mine had a leak. A few days later I showed him pictures of the cracks in my ceiling and he told me to contact management. When I reach out to Finger Management, they told me that it was a shareholder to shareholder dispute, and I had to work it out with my neighbor myself. First of all, I was kind of taken aback, since it was told to us that the plumbing was the buildings responsibility, but I was even more concerned that they wanted me to approach a neighbor with a bill to have my ceiling repaired Im not comfortable with that idea, and what if they decided that they were not going to pay? This management company does not care about us and honestly just treats ** poorly because they consider ** low income owners in the Bronx. The Property Manager made a comment at one of our shareholder meetings stating that we, the shareholders, complain about minor things when our maintenance fee is much lower than the properties that he manages in *******. This place is a scam, rising fees yearly with no improvements to justify it.
