      I had A1 Chimney come out on October 6, 2023 to inspect my fireplace. My husband had a hip replacement on the 5th and I thought we may need to use the fireplace to keep warm. When he arrived he just starting rambling, talking very fast! He had no uniform, hat, truck, nothing that indicated he was from A1 Chimney, when I asked he just said of course I am! He apparently did vaccum the fireplace and then said there are several cracks and its not about if we will have a fire it is when we will. He starting rattling off how much it would cost and I told my husband that I did not feel comfortable with what he was saying, I did not trust this guy at all but my husband was not feeling well from surgery the day before said just do it we have to have it fixed. Then he went on the roof and said we needed a new chimney cap which would have to be custom made and it would cost $1500.00. We needed to give him $500 deposit. Also the flashing around the chimney needed fixed and he would do that or we would have a water or fire in the walls, at this point my head was spinning, I looked them up on BBB and so many complaints and fraud. He was at my house for 30 minutes. He spray painted the inside of my fireplace silver, I cannot see anywhere that it fixed cracks that he charged $449.00. The final charge was $2,014.00 and he also said I can leave a tip on the card also!! He went back on the roof and I took a picture of his gray car with Texas plates, I think he saw me, he left without giving us any paperwork or telling us anything about the cap he was going to have made. When I called to complain, I had to wait for a call back I told the girl I wanted a refund for the deposit that I was not going to pay them $1,500.00 for a chimney cap, she said oh we will give that to you for $250.00. I told her at that point I did not want anything and that I wanted a refund that I refused to pay for their service. These guys are scam artists! Its a rotten shame they cannot be stopped.

      Lying scammers. Contacted A1 for service in *********. Tech visited, inspected, gave us a very high quote. I made the mistake of agreeing and gave a downpayment, then decided it was too much and decided I didn't want the service. They will not refund the $350.00 deposit.This company also goes by **** Cleaning. If you call to speak to someone you get a run around and you cannot speak to any 'supervisor'.
