On 09/30/2025 I signed a contract to have my home painted. The company was supposed to prep my home and remove any old paint, as indicated on the contract. The home was prepped, but much of the existing paint was still on the home. The home was painted a couple of weeks later. On Nov. 4 I had texted the owner and indicated that there were multiple areas on the home where the paint was already peeling and bubbling. I also had told him that the painters that he has sent out refused to clean up the paint cans and left them in a pile in the backyard. They came out and scraped the areas that were bubbled and chipped and repainted them. Several days later, my house was bubbling and peeling again. Due to the time of the year, they were unable to come and fix the home. Through the winter over 50% of my home is either bubbling or chipping. I attempted several times to contact the owner. He came to my home unannounced and walked around it. My daughters were home and very upset. In the end he told me that the issue with the paint is not his problem since there was existing paint on the home. He refuses to communicate with me other than text. I have asked for a face to face meeting and he refuses. He stated that as a "courtesy" he would send a crew out at their convenience to spot scrape the house.

We provided an estimate for this customer and included with the estimate a written warranty. The warranty states that we will warrant the final application of our product if the surface is sound and not previously painted. With this home the previously painted  application was peeling so we removed all of the loose paint by washing the home and then hand scraping all remaining loose paint on the house. We then applied 2 coats of paint. We followed the same process and procedure that is standard in the painting industry when dealing with previous applications failing. In this case shortly after we applied the paint the owner called to say that it is peeling in some spots. I told her the warranty does not cover previous applications that are lifting but that I would be willing to come out to remove any loose paint again and repaint. We did this. Shortly after we received another call from the owner stating that it is peeling again. Again I offered to come back out in the spring to remove loose paint and repaint the house one last time. Since then the owner has not contacted the company asking for us to come out.

I am rejecting this response because: I have asked for a meeting.  While I see that he keeps talking about a warranty, better than 1/2 of my house is peeling, chipping and bubbling.  I have asked the question several times, "Why would you paint a home if you had even a thought that the paint would peel?" I spoke with ******* ******** directly and they stated that the house was not prepped properly.  I know that the owner was not on site when the house was power washed.  I also was barely not there as they showed up unannounced.  There was also a very large communication barrier with the workers and myself.  I would not have paid almost 4,000 dollars to have my house painted, only to have it start peeling and chipping several days later.  I have not reached back out to the owner because he has told me that he would only send a crew when they are not busy as a courtesy.  I do not find this acceptable.  Again I would like my entire house prepped and repainted or my money back in full.

When the job was started it had extensive peeling already because the house was not washed properly by the previous painter and probably a lesser quality paint was used. We do many houses in this condition and have had success with most all of them. As we do with all of them and in this case we pressure wash the house completely. Then we hand scrape any additional loose paint that still may exist on the siding. At this point there was still better than 90% of the paint still solid and adhered to the siding. We then applied 2 coats of high quality ******* ******** paint. With this home the previous application that was solid failed and released and lifted from the siding while our paint was piggy backed onto the previous original application. Unfortunately we have no control over this happening which is why we cannot warrant previous applications from previous painters.

Considering that this is what happened we offered to come back out and remove the new peeling previous application and apply a coat of paint over that repaired area. We did this already last fall. Shortly after that it continued to happen where the original application that was solid and adhering at the time started to fail and lift. I again offered to come back out to remove more of the original application and repair with a coat of paint. Since it was too cold to do that last fall we agreed to come out in the spring to do that. We are still offering to come back out one last time even though the warranty does not apply. This will be my last correspondence in this matter. I will leave it up to the homeowner to reach out to the company if she still wants us back out.

I am rejecting this response because: I have asked for a face to face meetig.  My house is better than 50% peeling, chipping and /or bubbling.  I have told him that it is not a courtesy to fix something that was not done right in the first place.  These things started happening within days of completion of the job.  At this time I am standing firm with I either want the entire houe stripped, prepped properly and re-painted OR a complete refund so that I can start over with another company.
