I have a 2 car garage with an efficiency apartment above it. I hired White Refrigeration to install a new furnace and heat pump. It was a absolutely horrible job! Instead of replacing or repairing my ductwork they had one guy put duck tape on my existing ductwork, but this was the cheapest tape you could buy and by the end of the first winter all the tape was peeling up. They cut 4 of my floor joists to install a new cold air return, which they used flimsy cardboard to make the ductwork. This was structural damage for a cold air return. They cut my kitchen cupboard to add a register but they didn't run the ductwork correctly, they just cut a hole in the floor under the kitchen sink. When I complained about this they covered the hole with a piece of metal but this is the hole where my waterlines for the kitchen should be. They added another cardboard duct for another cold air return but they ran ductwork to the hole in the floor that is for the shower drain. If I want any plumbing all of this cardboard ductwork will need to be removed and installed correctly. They drilled holes in my cement cellar wall the put the heat pump up on a bracket. Within the first 6 months the bracket pulled away from the wall and the heat pump was leaning so bad I was told not to use it. When I complained about this they did come out to fix it but they did not tell me when they were coming so no one was home that day to see what they were doing. They put a different bracket in the cement cellar wall, which left a large hole in the wall for no good reason. This heat pump should have been installed on a cement pad on the ground! When the furnace kicks on the hot air goes into the unfinished garage and out the garage doors to heat the outside. The unfinished garage is warm but the apartment is still very cold. It was better when we were using space heaters. This was totally a rip off! The owner has not been out to see all the damage his crew did. I definitely would not recommend this company!
