in need of a tow because I got stuck in some mud not to bad I was on a donut so but if I had a regular tire it might not have been a problem it wasn't so bad the tow company sent someone not the friendliest person a police officer stopped to check on me the tow driver was friendlier with the cop than me even though there was no wrong doing and no traffic stop and I just felt un easy about the who situation. The cop was board line harassing me and I felt like the tow driver was now working for him I got an estimate for a tow to my house which drive said 250 and he only excepted cash I didn't have 250 so I got another estimate for 6 miles up the road he gave me an estimate for 125 that I could do so I sat in tow drivers truck while he did what he did I look into the side mirrors and I see the police officer jumping out of my car which I didn't consent to nor was I asked by the police officer if he could be in my car so illegal search all while the drive just stood there and let the police officer do this he literally stopped hooking my car up. Anyways I asked the driver why he would let the police officer in my car he paused and said I needed him to steer the car . A tow driver is a one man job they don't need two people so not true. Arrived at agreed spot estimateat 125 knowing I didn't have the 250 to get droped at my house he then strong armed me with a price of 250 and he wasn't releasing my car till I gave it to him and if I don't pay him in 5 minutes he was going to take it to his storage lot charging me the mileage to the storage lot plus the tow cost of 250 and storage fees and other fees and leave me on theside if a country road .cash only now he excepted credit cards I had to call my mom with brain cancer for the rest of the 250. He doubled the amount to what he wanted at the beginning knowing I didn't have it estimate wasn't even close it was doubled bad business crooked and he knew i didn't have the 250 average price around 125 Chevy Trax 2019

How is it ok to be strong armed by a tow company who extorts me for double the orignial estimated qoute? How is thst ok to be lied to and threatened to be charged more to tow to storage impound plus orginal 250 that i.was extorted for and then be charged more for milage to storage lot and storage and fees before i can get my car if i dont pay double the estimate for 6 miles up the road?
And i had to pay in five minutes and all of a dudden he could take credit or debit when at first he said cash onky the worker wanted 250 cause that wad tow price he yolf me to raje my car to my house which i didnt have hence why i onky had it towed 6 miles uo the road cause thats all i vould afford and he sayed 125 knowing indidnt have 250 but proceeded to double estimate and after my car was hooked to his truck and at the 6 mile up the road location and this seen right to you
And your the better business burea you help customers this seems wrong here is the reciept that the owner wanted . 150 for labor i plan on getting pic of site where tow was and.that way you can see it wasnt in a ditch nothing was blocking car it wasnt anything that should have been 150 in labor when the orginal totaal estimate was 125 to begin with after he saw what was needed and thatvwas the otal estimated price iminderstand estimated can gonup up but doubled thats not an estimate then it was doubked andnthe average tow costbfor my dize cars with all the factors ifnthe tow irecueved and milage was between 75-125 .
Can someone email me back . I would have replied sooner but i had to get a new phone because mine was stolen and had issues then getting into my ****** account cause everything was linked to my old phone and i couldnt remember pass word or get the two step verification because i didnt have my phone or my old number i wad forced to get new service and new number Please please contact me back i feel this is unfair and my case was dismissed super fast and i feel something had gone wrong here and dont think this company that towed me should be able to do this to someone elseBusiness Response

I am sorry I can not respond to this complaint as I have no date , location, or any other information that I can look this call up and respond. I don't really believe my driver told them cash only since we have portable credit card machines with each driver. I f they can give information and possibly a receipt, then I can look into this further. Thank youBusiness Response

I apologize that this customer is unhappy. I will explain the bill and the circumstances so that they might better understand. We were called to winch out the vehicle that was stuck in the mud. When the driver arrived, he gave an estimate of $125.00 and UP plus sales tax {as required by the state of Ohio}. At some point the Stark County Sheriff showed up and helped steer the car out of the ditch. The Sheriff cited the driver for driving under suspension {case************) and said the car must be towed. Normally a police tow would be $150.00 plus tax {with addition to the winch out} but the driver just charged them for the normal tow cost which is $60.00 hook up fee and $4.00 per mile. The car would have had to be towed to the impound if they would not have paid the bill because it was considered a police tow. The Sheriff was nice enough to let them take it to a parking lot which also saved them money. As you can see on their copy of the bill, it shows that. The price without the tow by the Sheriff would have been $159.75 with tax. We have no control over what the Sheriff does if he arrives on a scene. With that being said, that is why the bill totaled the $249.12. Thank you for allowing me to reply to this.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I reject what the business stated because it wasn't the truth the truth is that i have gotten a ticket and bringing it up is to deflect attention away from the tow company grimmy business practices and it does explain how it is ok to strong with how i was strong armed and threaten and extorted me for money and my car was held for hostage till i paid double what the price the tow truck gave to me that the price would be and him.knowing i didn't have 250 because that was the price he gave me to tow my vehicle to my house in the beginning I didn't have 259 or i would have then had my car towed to my house.
the fact a that this company is stating that this tow was a police tow is lies no where does it state anywhere on the on my ticket or the receipt nor was i ever told that it was and that there would be charges because of police tow and as far as i aware police tows don't let you pick where they tow your car and the fact i called for the tow this goes to show how honest this company really IS NOT. And the tow truck driver is a one person job and if your driver cant preform his job that is not my problem and this driver had abusulty no right to give anyone permission to enter my vehicle at anytime if he needed help performing his duties i was there and he could have asked me or asked my permission to allow someone to enter my vehicle which nobody did and i was only aware if this because i happen to look back and see what seemed to me a cop sneaking jumping out of my vehicle and nobody said anything after the fact until i confronted driver.
also my car was NOT in a ditch iT WAS OFF THE SIDE OF THE IF A FLAT ROAD and i asked the driver again before we left the price and he stated the same 125 never mentioned police towing or anything about labor charges i wasn't aware of any 150 labor charges until he was threatening to leave me on the side of the road steal my car and charge me more for mileage and fees and anything he could time of if i didn't pay him in 5 minutes 250 in which he Knew from the start i didn't have. Thus the company is not truthful and tries to deflect its wrongdoing by bringing up a ticket in which I am fighting because of it being untrue and having a lawyer to help me in court with that .
I want and apology and refund for bad business and jacked up strong armed charges my next step is to contact the attorney general's off and the ftc and ifni have to my local new station to expose this vad business and theni will look into legal actions and what my choice are from there i will not let this company treat me like nothing kick me when i am down and extort and threaten me and i am a victim here and its not right for anyone to feel helpless and like they have no choices but to take it i can't sit back and think about someone else feeling so violated like i did that evening and for this company to get away with this all i want justice and to be treated fairly and for this company to be made to address there practices and i want tus not to happen to others
Regards,
