on 10/23 I need a locksmith as I has lost the key to my mini van. Adanbced lock and key came out. the man asked if I would like for him to make me 2? I said yes, Then he stated that he only had one with him and would get the second one by next week. He asked me to text him the address and the vechile. I did on 10/23 at 6:11. on 11/23 at 8:49 I sent him a text ask if he had received the key because it had been a couple of weeks. I received no response. on 11/14 I ask again about the second key. He stated that in should be in by next week. On 11/19 I ask if he had any information on the key. no response. On 11/27 I again ask if he had any information on the key. He responded by asking if I was home he was on his way. I stated not at this moment. He ok no problem just let me know when you are there. this was at 11:24. I stated that I would be home from 1 to 2:30 and then would be going to a funeral. I never heard anything back after that. I have tried texting and calling. I called the company In Janurary and they wanted to know the name of the person. I stated I did not know his name but had a phone #, they stated that was not good enought and that they would have to research and get back with me. I called again in april and the stated the same thing. I even offered to give them the receipt # they text me and they would not take it. at this point I would like the money refunded for the key.Business Response

I am not aware of this customer not getting a second key. If this happened in October and now June 9 months later and she all of a sudden wants to complain to the BBB after waiting so long, then something isn’t right here. I do not recall this scenario and it’s totally her fault for waiting this long. No one has reached out to me and if I did a job and promise something I always come through. She has my number she can call me and we can try to figure this out.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The person that answers this was rude. The owner did call an took care of the issues on Monday. He apologized for the remarks made on here.

I paid for the service of having copies of keys made for my two vehicles. One key worked correctly, the key for the other vehicle he made worked correctly but he did something where my original key doesn't start my car anymore. I tried to explain to him but he told me that I gave him a blank key and it had no chip and there's no way I could've been driving with the vehicle. Yet I've been driving while using this same key for 4 years. As I continued to try to explain it to him, he kept telling me I was wrong and proceeded to hang up on meBusiness Response

The customer called us to make him a new key for his Toyota. Upon arrival he gave us his old broken key shel. Which was missing the board and chip to start the car. All it did was turn the ignition to the on position but the car will not start since it’s missing the chip. We then copied his key to a new key PROGRAMMED IT AND HANDED HIS BROKEN NO GOOD KEY BACK TO HIM. He was extremely happy upon completion and paid for the service The next day he called to complain his broken key wouldn’t start the car. We explained to him that it won’t start because it’s just a shel. He refused to accept it and chose to give us a bad review and complaint. We offered to come back and try to work with him but he insisted on going this route and said he will make sure we get the short end of the stick even though he’s 100% on the wrong for this. JOB COMPLETED HE TESTED THE KEYS AMD WAS HAPPY AND THATS WHY HE PAID WHEN WE LEFT

I purchased a key from this business on 9/24/21. I called back last week to receive another key so I would have a spare. Yesterday, my original key I received from them stopped working. I call today and I try to explain the issue and I was rudely cut off and told that he “just doesn’t know what to do”. He tried to tell me that once you get a new key, the old key deactivated. Which was never told to me at the time of purchase of the second key. Also, that doesn’t make sense because it worked the entire time I had the 2nd key, up until yesterday. He tried to state that I lost the key and that’s why it doesn’t work, when I never stated that I lost the key, but he wouldn’t have known that because he barely let me speak. I further tried to explain to him, and I was told “no, you can’t explain. Let me talk.” I then add my SO into the call because he was being unprofessional and I wanted another person to be involved. He then tells me to go outside to test the keys, which I do, and of course, the second key doesn’t work. I tell him this, and he tells me “well I don’t know, it should work”. After telling me earlier that the key was deactivated. His answers were all over the place. Continued to cut me off and got upset when I did it back. He did offer to come back out to “try to see”, but honestly I don’t feel comfortable with this man coming to my home given his defensive attitude over the phone. He automatically went to not taking responsibility without even hearing the whole issue. I spent $460 on both keys total and now I only have one key that works.Business Response

We spoke this morning. I told you to send me the address and you said you can’t meet today you want to meet tomorrow. You called in requesting a refund off the bat. Your tone of voice was irritated so I went with your attitude. Just because you don’t like what I have to say doesnt mean I’m wrong. I told you I need to see the key and you were supposed to call me tomorrow. And now you have your complaint with the BBB. hope that makes you feel better. So I’ll expect a call from you tomorrow.
