Cleveland Skin Pathology sent my bill to a debt collector without informing me that I was receiving a final bill. I have no information currently to even pay for the debt owed as requested online.
They are saying that as of 7/11/23 I have a balance owed of $123.44
I have received no final bill nor was I informed that I would be sent to collections.
On 1/24/24 I received a bill from "First Federal Credit Control, Inc" and when I contacted them they said they cannot do anything except for process payment. They had no information besides I had made a prior payment of $10 and was not informed of my current balance owed.

Response taken over the phone by BBB Staff

We discussed with patient that she had received 3 statements.  She sent a 10 dollar payment and because we did not receive a call back, we sent her to collections.  We tried reaching out to her to set up a payment plan and she has not responded.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I have spoken with Cleveland Pathology on multiple occasions since 1/30/24. I informed them I would like to pay in full and have returned EVERY call they have made to me. I have tried logging on to their online payment system where it states I owe $0 and there has been NO new statement sent. I spoke with them again yesterday and they said they “didn’t reset the delinquency date” on their end and have failed to send me any statements. Their payment system does not allow me to pay if I have a $0 balance.

It is untrue that they haven’t received any responses from me. They said if I don’t receive a statement in a week to call and let them know.

The use of their payment system is what has caused problems with my account since the beginning. I WAS NOT notified I was being sent to collections because of their billing system failing.

Cleveland Skin Pathology needs to update their systems to better service client accounts. If you view their Google reviews, this has happened to many other individuals, not just me.

      Regards,

Received and paid my bill in July 2022, and am still receiving statements for the bill. I called them and they said they'd look into it, but the bills keep coming and now I received a letter saying my account will be sent to collections. There are many google reviews complaining of this same issue, and people have had their credit scores affected by the issues with this company. They need to show my bill as paid and no longer send me bills or threats of sending my account to a collections agency

      Business Response

      Date: 03/29/2023

      Good morning,

I spoke with this patient on 3/20/2023.

I explained to him that he had two dates of services, 4/25/22 and 5/31/22. Both were paid by his insurance, with both dates of service leaving a balance of $60.74.

The patient did pay $60.74 on 7/14/22 for date of service 4/25/22, however, he continued to get a bill for $60.74 for the date of service of 5/31/22.

I see that he did eventually pay for this date of service on 3/20/23.

He has no further amount due.

Please let me know if you need any further information.

      Thank you,
