    I placed two internet orders with their web site. First order was on 3/16/24, order number ****** for $179.99 and the 2nd order order number****** was on 3/30/24 for $179.00. Each order was for fly fishing rods. I have sent numerous emails and made phone calls and have not received any status regarding shipment, etc. I even used their contact link on their web site asking for status and to cancel these two orders since it appears they are not responsive. I am starting to think this company does not exist. Since placing these two orders, I did some internet research and found an article that paints a very negative outlook for this company and recommends not doing business with them.

    Honestly, we don't understand why this complaint was filed. It's the first complaint we've received in almost 20 years. The customer placed an order and was emailed within one day informing him the rod was on backorder and would take a week or so to arrive. The backorder took longer than expected with the manufacturer and the customer became impatient. We just received an email and voicemail yesterday, but before we could respond, he filed this complaint with the BBB. We ended up speaking the customer and he cancelled both orders. Unfortunately, there's nothing else we could have done differently under the circumstances to please this customer.

    I am rejecting this response because: There are two different internet orders involved that I placed.  First order was made on 3/16/24 for $179.99.  The ReelFlyRod website said rod was available so that's why I ordered.  Next I got an email (3/18/24) saying ReelFlyRod didn't have the rod but would have in the next 6-7 days.  I heard nothing since the 3/18/24 email so I sent an email on 3/31/24 asking for shipping info/status.  Got nothing back so I made several phone calls, left messages since no human would answer the phone.  I placed another order on 3/30/24 for a another fly rod (different model) for $179.00.  Received no shipping info nor status back on this order even though the web site said they had it in stock.  Called again to the same phone number looking for status/shipping info and received nothing back.  I also completed a comment submission on the ReelFlyRod link and received no feedback to this entire situation.  Got frustrated so I sent another email saying lack of status to cancel both orders on 4/2/24.  I never talked to Todd or heard his name till I submitted the BBB complaint today, April 3, 24.  To me, I can't understand how a company can stay in business and not provide proper info/status to their customers.  I have contacted my bank and submitted two different funding disputes and their team will coordinate with ReelFlyRod to have my funds returned.   I also had my debit card cancelled since I lost trust/faith in this company and reading other information on the internet.  The final solution is for ReelFlyRod to coordinate with my Bank Visa dispute team and return the funds.  I understand this may take several weeks for both parties to complete.
