    On 2/25/25, I submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau regarding Western Ohio Sedation Associates, LLC (complaint ID ********).  After 6 weeks of multiple interactions with the company’s Patient Services representatives in order to get an emailed or hard copy of the billing statement, I finally received a statement today: 2/28/25.  Therefore, I wish to close the complaint that I submitted to the BBB.  

    I appreciate your willingness to assist with my concerns but wanted to update you on this matter.  If you need any additional information from me, please let me know. Thanks again for your efforts.

    ll within 7-10 days, and she'd put "urgent" on the request. As of 2/25, still no statement. Called PS on 2/21 and spoke with ***, who assured me the bill will arrive (told her the other 3 reps had said the same), but she could request that I get an emailed copy of the statement, which I should have within 48 hours. Gave her our email address, which she correctly repeated back to me, and she said she'd continue to put my account on hold due to the lack of a statement having been received. Over 48 hours later, I still have no emailed or hard copy of the billing statement, necessary to pay by check. Twice, asked PS reps to speak with a department manager to express my concern with the company's follow up; never received a call back. The company's billing inefficiency is unacceptable, despite my due diligence, and I still need a copy of the bill.

    5/22/2022 I was seen at Dayton Gastro Endoscopy for a screening colonoscopy. The sedation was provided by Western Ohio Sedation Associates LLC. The procedure itself was covered by my insurance because it was coded correctly. However, Western Ohio Sedation coded the procedure as diagnostic and was not covered by my insurance. I received a bill for $2160.00. I attempted multiple times to contact the billing department at Western Ohio Sedation. I spoke with multiple people who did not speak very clear English, I explained it was coded wrong and I was told "It will be sent to the back office for further review" which never happened. To note -There is no other way to contact Western Ohio Sedation and their address is the same as Dayton Gastro. Dayton Gastro also sent me a copy of my chart which clearly shows it was screening. After multiple failed attempts I contacted Dayton Gastro several times. Throughout those conversations I was told the following: I was not the only person to have this complaint with Western Ohio Sedation, they will send you to the collection, they are contracted and have access to charts and code their procedures. I thought it was resolved on 9/2023 after speaking with 3 different individuals at Dayton Gastro one of which stated the amount was way too high even if it was coded correctly, and they would contact them and take care of it. 12/2023 I received a bill from collections. Western Ohio Sedation and Dayton Gastro are fully aware that this was coded incorrectly and refuse to correct the issue. 12/4/2023 I spoke with the "manager" of billing at Dayton Gastro who assured me she would reach out to Western Ohio Sedation and would call me back. I had to reach back out to her on 12/7 and 12/11 only to get the same run-around. An investigation of how many patients this is happening to needs to be done. Dayton Gastro is very aware that it is happening to patients. Patients are getting sent to collections wrongfully. Something needs to happen.

    l, that they will put a hold on it, so it would not go to a collection agency, but on 08/05/23, after talking to them on 08/03/23 I received an invoice dated 07/31/23 stating if this is not paid in 15 days, it will be placed with a collection agency. So, I called them again on 08/07/23 and asked to speak to a supervisor again, and was told there were no supervisors available, and they will not send it to collections and for me to wait again 2-3 weeks for it to be reprocessed.

    I want them to rectify this bill before it gets sent to a collection agency. I am not sure if they are sending it back to the back office to be corrected, or if they are just telling me, they are month after month, but not really doing anything at all.

    I did call the Dr. Office ( ************ ) who performed the procedure to see if they could help, and the lady in billing told me that they get plenty of calls about Western Sedation regarding issues about what I was stating, but they could not help me with it.
