  G L Dart was hired to repair fire damage to our home. He promised the work would be done in 3 months. It took more than 9. The work was not only extremely inferior, it created several potentially lethal dangers. He did not hire licensed electricians or plumbers. One of the electricians installed a 220 where a 110 should be and covered it with a 110 plate. When we plugged in a toaster it exploded. He also put the outdoor light and the TV on the same circuit, When we turned off the porch light, the TV went off. Another potentially fatal issue was the wood stove. When the drywallers reinstalled it, they left a significant gap between the wall plate and the wall, creating a space for heat to build. When I had professional fire place installers look at this, they also found that regular insulation rather than rock wool was used around the stove pipe. This created the potential for a deadly house fire. My other complaints include the use of the cheapest paint possible even after I had insisted multiple times I wanted name brand paint from a name brand store. I had to pay for the interior to be redone. Additional out of pocket expenses included the fact that the house lay vacant for weeks, sometime a month at a time with doors left open, creating a perfect condition for a squirrel infestation. This cost close to $3,000 to remove the squirrels and repair the damage. As for the plumbing, he used a mis-matched tub and insert and the caulking was sloppy and it leaked. He damaged the wiring to the well, causing the need to purchase a new pump.The new roof he installed also leaked. When I tried to show photos and share information about the lack of quality and the dangerous situations, Mr. Dart would not listen. He yelled. He would not let me speak. I had to threaten to call 911 to get him to leave the house. I would prefer to give no stars, but I cannot complete this without giving at least one. I would never recommend G L Dart for any kind of work.
