We had this company install a new metal roof after our slate roof was damaged from a tornado in June 2023. There are so many issues with this roof and more issues in the future with rust and leaks.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/08/2024

The roof was done in winter there were a few small scratches do to wind and cold weather. I am the one that pointed it out. I said when the weather got warmer I would be out to fix it. It can't be done In 20 degree weather. I was asked to leave job and was never paid in full. I was lied to and cheated. I would never leave a home unfinished. I do what I love. Let's just say it was a job that I should have walked away from. Lessons learned and I tried to fix it, they would not allow me to do so.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: This man is a liar.
We mentioned the crooked valley, and he responded that he would fix that. His final payment was made by check and accepted by him, in the form of cashing it.  He was given a written and itemized explanation for deductions made from the final payment. One of such deductions was for the singular valley that we were able to see from the ground that was done poorly. It wasn’t until a reputable contractor was removing siding, and noticed that sidewall flashings were not done. Further, our agreement was final payment was due when the project was complete. Our contract stated That gutters and downspouts would be done as well. They never were. He never completed the project. The owner is correct in one statement only and that is that he was removed from the job. He caused damage to the property beyond the roof, including hitting a mailbox, rutting up the entire yard, and completely tore up a concrete sidewalk, further, it was recently discovered that the owner removed slate material from the property without permission and sold it for $11,000. I have recorded conversations and text messages to prove all of the above. The damage to the roof is more than dents And scratches. Besides those flaws, there is missing sidewall flashing, and the entire flat part of the roof was done in incorrect material. Any experienced roofer knows that it should have been a rubber roof in that area. At no time was this company ever rushed to complete this project. In fact, there are several messages that convey understanding regarding the weather. Hot coffee was provided for the crew daily during cold weather.. This owner knew this roof was a mess and was hoping that we would not notice he was on a lift looking at the Work several times. If he was as honorable as he’s trying to present himself, he would’ve fixed all of this before we noticed. But no, We had to have a drone flown out to see the damage. Nice try Lance, But regardless of what BBB ends up doing, you will be held responsible for this

    Sincerely,
