On 10/04/2024 my car was repossessed. On 10/2322024 Upon retrieving my car it had a broken windshield that wasn't there when it was repossessed. I was instructed to file a claim with photos of the damage. Once I submitted my claim I received a message stating it was approved and given an appointment for the repair. On 10/24/2024 the windshield was installed but I was told that they weren't going to calibrate it which is necessary to restore the windshield back to the condition it was in before they repossessed it. I immediately contacted the person who handled the claim and they responded that "You don't need that". Calibration is essential when replacing a windshield that has it for safety issues.Business Response

The vehicle is new and the camera system on the windshield should not have to be calibrated since it was not in an accident. The windshield company puts the camera system back in the same spot. They do a good job of this. You did not state the car was acting different since Friday from the repair. No issues means the system is working good.Business Response

Car was towed with NARS for a repo. I was out on hold for 1 hour only to be told that they didn’t have my car and laughed at me cause I didn’t know its location. But the loan company said it was here but the lady I spoke to said it was t not was I able to speak to a supervisor as it wasn’t urgent. Then gave me 2 long distance numbers to call to find the car. The car is at the facility but I’m worried they damaged it dragging out of the spot it was in at work. It looks like it’s stored in a junk yard parked right against another car.Business Response

You did not speak to us originally. You spoke to a third party that your finance co used to outsource the account. We have no control over that and was responsible for just picking your vehicle up. I would say get a professional mechanic to look at your vehicle.Initial Complaint

My 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 was repossessed on January 12th without my acknowledgment I retrieved my truck on Thursday January 19th and my tire was flat and my Fourwheel drive no longer works! I bought this truck less than 6 months ago and EVERYTHING worked on it . I would never purchase a vehicle that is not in properly working condition. I was made aware that when my vehicle was towed they removed the linkage. Something was done to damage my Fourwheel drive and I want it fixed!Business Response

We picked the unit up and towed it to our yard without removing the drive shaft. The auction is who sent the transporter to our yard to pick the unit up. They are the ones who removed your drive shaft. Contact the auction where you picked the unit up from.Initial Complaint

There was nothing wrong with my 2012 Chrysler 300 before the company repossessed my car by dragging (not towing my car) down the alley. When I picked up my car Saturday all the lights was on inside the car and it kept pulling to the right causing me to almost hit a mail truck. I'm scared to drive the car cause it isn't running right since it was dragged by your repossession company! You are very unprofessional and I'm not happy about getting my car back that had nothing wrong with it until it was dragged! And now it's not running right!Business Response

Your car is a rear wheel drive vehicle. It was pulled in. He picked it up from the rear and towed it out of the alley very slowly. Did not have to drag it. We have reviewed the video from the truck cameras. He was very careful. We do not know what would have caused the car to start pulling to one side. We even showed it to a mechanic and he does not know what would have caused ti to do that. I would advise you have a mechanic look at it as we do not know why it would be doing any of this. He towed it the way your suppose to. As for the lights are you talking about the dash or the interior lights?Initial Complaint

My 2018 Mitsubishi was repoed on July 14, 2022, not a problem, I understood completely. I went to retrieve my personal items from my car and after getting there I realized that my firearm was missing. The workers swore they never saw it or touched it and they didn’t have it. I requested all phone numbers and names including tow truck driver, manager, and both lot agents and asked to double check that someone didn’t misplace it. I was handed a sticky note with no numbers and only 3 names and an email address. After calling NARS main phone number i was able to request a call back from the manager (mike) An hour later Mike called and said he spoke with all employees and they don’t have my firearm and his employees have all be with him for 10+ years. The woman whom which I spoke with at the lot said she was brand new only had been there for 3 weeks so that was a huge error in his story. The second problem is he had an attitude with me and was very disrespectful and demeaning when I asked how my gun went from being in my car in a secured location to not being in my car at all and completely missing. Mike refused to look at any cameras, when I brought up how a loaded gun went missing while my vehicle was in his company’s’ possession he said “listen lady I don’t have it” and hung up on me. My gun is still missing, I have filed a police report, and my loan company for my car is looking into the situation. The employees and the manager seem less than trustworthy and very uncooperative which makes me think they know where my gun is and aren’t trying to take any responsibility.Business Response

There was
no firearm located in this vehicle. They claim it was in a hidden compartment. We pulled the vehicle up
to the gate and had them check because we were not sure where the hidden compartment
was that they were talking about. We
advise them to report it stolen. Nobody had looked in this hidden compartment especially with all the stuff on top of it. They were irate and just yelled at everyone. We
tried to talk to them but the yelling and screaming at our people was unnecessary and not going to help the situation.
They receive their wallet with money in it plus nothing else was missing. Our company policy is to always call the local police if a weapon is found inside a vehicle. The police take the weapons for employees safety. It is a common practice and one we have done for a long time. This office has complied with this policy in the past as well.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]
Regards,
****** *******As stated in the original complaint I spoke with two different employees and asked for any and all contact information, asked for cameras to be reviewed, asked if this sort of situation happens and often. I was given a sticky note with a couple names and no other information. Everyone involved at the time was respectful, calm, and trying to figure out what to do next. Nobody was yelling or acting irate. When the manager, Mike called back he was less than helpful, he continuously spoke over me and kept repeating they don’t have it. No sort of solution, plan, anything was offered to help retrieve the missing firearm. On more than one occasion he lied or gave misinformation. Guns do not go missing on their own. Mike has made no effort to resolve the issue or locate the missing gun. To this day no cameras have been reviewed when on the entrance gate it clearly states they are under supervision 24/7. Someone who works at this lot knows where my firearm is and is being protected. Cameras need to be reviewed, and the company as a whole needs to be held accountable.

We watched the videos. Nobody got into the hidden compartment in the trunk of the vehicle under all that stuff. Here are the pictures. The driver did not get into the vehicle when he picked it up. He parked it in the middle of the lot where all eyes and cameras could see it. Nobody knew that hidden compartment was there. We talked to everyone at that location. It is company policy to call the police when firearms are found. We do background checks on everyone. If someone was going thru your belongings they would have taken the money in the wallet. Everything in the trunk would have been moved around and it would have been obvious.
