Contract Executed July 12th, 2024 and started on September 23, 2024 for a basement remodel. $52000 was provided through 2 payments and Crown Pointe Remodeling was to provide the labor for all activities, basic materials for walls/HVAC/electrical as well as source an external door and window specified in the contract. The contract execution was expected at 8-10 weeks once started and it is now 21 weeks. The initial framing crew started without any plans and missed framing 2 doorways and ALL doorways had varying heights. An entire wall was out of plumb by 7". Work stopped for ~2 months even with numerous complaints. Then drywallers without experience burnt up the drywall by sanding paper work causing severe. Crown Pointe offered to paint to offset the delays and the burnt up drywall feels like sandpaper after it was painted due to all the fibers sticking out from over sanding. Crown Point was asked repeatedly about the window and exterior door they were to source with various excuses given for the delays including a manufacturing hold. Finally last week the subcontractor's check from Crown Pointe bounced due to insufficient funds. Crown Pointe admitted that the window and door were never ordered. A ****** search identified numerous pending lawsuits against Crown Pointe by financial institutes and other clients. I've requested an audience with the owner, Quincy Barrett, through Crown Pointe employees without success. I've sent a letter of notice for material breaches of contract and required remedies. I'm awaiting a reply.

I initially signed a contract for all new windows in my home in April of this year, and paid the required deposit. There have been a variety of changes to the order since then, and in early October I discovered that my sales person nor one of the lead installers (that I met numerous times), are no longer with the company. I reached out to the owner and told him that I would not be proceeding and requested a refund of my deposit. My request was denied, and I was told that I would be forfeiting the deposit due to billable hours since the project started. I requested a copy of the signed documents stating billable hours, and have yet to receive it. The contract that I have notes 10 business days to receive a refund, which has come gone. No work has been done on my home. No windows have been ordered. No refund has been received.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 03/24/2025

I didn't receive a response, so I am sending mine below.  I did not see a place on the online system for me to respond.  I will mail a copy of this email to you as well.

           * Has the company addressed the issues of this dispute?  No.

           * If not, why? They still have my deposit, even though no product has been ordered or received, and no work is being done on my home.

           * Has the company met the agreement they outlined in their response?  No.  I have repeatedly asked the company for the terms of the contract that state "billable service hours rendered," but they have yet to provide me with that, mainly because it does not exist.  Their own contract states "any payments made by you under the contract or sale, and any negotiable instrument executed by you will be returned within TEN BUSINESS DAYS following receipt by Crown Pointe Remodeling, LLC of your cancellation notice, and any security interest arising out of the transaction will be cancelled."  The response the included to you was verbatim the email they sent to me on 10/11/24 - and only one of many they sent directly to me.  I have attached the full thread for you (start at the bottom).
