    My car a Ford Explorer was taken to Busted Knuckles Garage on 12/30/2022. There were continued problems with the car until we had to have it towed on 1/18/2024. The car was taken to **** **** Garage where were were told that the Timing chain had came off and the company Busted Knuckles said it was under warranty and it would be covered. They have now had my car an entire calendar year and still they don't have my car complete and they keep saying they are waiting on an engine to come in. I have been waiting for over one calendar year and spent $7888.79 on these repairs. I am a single mom who have two kids and I had to purchase a new car in order to keep up with going to work and then getting them to school and their activities. I also have had car insurance on this car paying approx. 120 dollars a month every month that we have had it there.

    THE VEHICLE IS BEING WORKED ON FOR THE CUSTOMER AS A TIMING CHANGE HAD FAILED THAT WAS INSTALLED BY US. THE CUSTOMER HAS NOT BEEN CHARGED A DIME FOR ANYTIME SPENT TALKING WITH THE WARRANTY COMPANY OR TRYING TO FIND A ENGINE COMPARABLE TO THE ONE THAT WAS IN THE VEHICLE. WE WAS ALSO INFORMED BY THE FARTHER OF SAID CUSTOMER THAT SHE HAS PURCHASED HER A NEW VEHICLE AND THAT HE JUST WANTS THIS ONE FINISHED SO HE CAN SELL. WE ARE WORKING TO FINSIH THE VEHICLE IN THE SCHEDULED TIME WE HAVE. WE ARE SORRY THAT THE CUSTOMER IS NOT LIKING THE TIMELINE, THE OLD ENGINE HAS ALREADY BEEN REMOVED.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

    The fact that it has been over a year and my car was not brought into their garage until December 2024.  This is 11 months outside in the elements that my car sat idol.   This car was taken to the garage for a coolant leak and now it needs to have an entire new motor.  The new breaks, tires and rotors that I paid for prior to this will now need to be replaced.  I have sought legal representation also because I feel that this business has told multiple lies over this time resulting in many motors "said to be arriving", however, we still have not had confirmation of any motor physically being delivered.  This car may be sold but if it is done correctly my 15 year old son will drive it along with myself in the winter months or when needing a larger vehicle.
